Bilstein HDs Fitted to M033

ORIGINAL: Stewart Rix

I've been toying with the idea of HD's for a while, but can someone clarify whether I need the 'special long thread' versions that Gert at Carnewel sells to keep the lower ride height of my M033 springs?

Stewart

just done the same - no you dont need the extra thread to retain the OE m033 height

I have a current order with Gert for standard HD's and as Marc has said you do not need the extra thread.

Also see an earlier post by me where I confirm what Gert has said that the extra threaded dampers are only neccessary if you want to go down to RS height.

Thanks for sorting out the link Maurice.

It is interesting that Devek are involved as there is another 6 page thread, I spend far to much time on Rennlist, about an install using dampers and instructions from this company where the poor guys car looks no lower, however everybody who has bought from Carnewal have been able to get their cars to a height they want.

Just hope I do not encounter any problems, but as Porkapig has just had the Bilsteins fitted without the extra thread and is delighted and I have written confirmation from Gert about what heights you can go down to, am feeling confident about the end result.

Will post pictures of the before and after install when it is done.
