Black on Gold

Just a quick query to get peoples opinions.
I am going to get my Design 90's on my Black S2 refurbished. I am quite keen on getting them done in a dark/smoked gold colour.

What does any body think??

...also I would ideally get some Fuchs but their offset is wrong to fit with the ABS.

Does anyone know if it would just be a case of getting someone to machine down the inside of the wheel to reduce the offset?

I was also thinking of smoked gold for my Ocean Blue Metallic car, but that combination has been murdered by Subaru.

Your 1970's Lotus JPS scheme looks good, but again, is somewhat linked to that one Manufacturer. It'd be like having a Gulf Blue/Orange Hyundai [:D]

I don't dislike it it but I too was lookng for the JPS and Lotus badges!
Quite dated as a look because of the colour scheme but perhaps not out of period for the car?
I've seen a lot worse - if you like it go for it.

Probably a very, very bad idea....

I know.............I know..............sacriledge and all that................

My son had D90`s on his Polo Gti in Anthracite with a polished rim, they did look really good (the compressed photo doesnt do them justice)

I don't mind it. JPS to me was a bright Gold rather than this satin burnt finish. I agree, go for it if you like it, however don't get the hubs machined to change the offset. Dangerous.

I am quite a fan of the Old JPS colours, (my old man has always been into his Lotuses)I think that must be where I got my inspiration from, although I'm trying to make it a little more sleek/subtle by making them really dark and smoked.

I'm getting some samples made up and will show you all how they look.

...however Pauls sons' black on polished wheels do look the D.B. especially with the full coloured caps, they also remind me more of the classic look of the Fuchs and similar wheels.

Think I'm going to a sit on it for a while and see what my heart says as I'm in no rush and want it to look just right.

Also think I will avoid the Fuchs for now...

Even the caps have a polished rim (oooh matron) that really set them off.

Hi Kevin , I think the D90's gold wheel in the picture look tacky and cheap ! But again it is all down to personal taste and the look you want to achieve on your car . I had my BBS rims refurbed in shadow Chrome center with polished outter part of the rim , I am happy with my look .BEFORE THE REFURB
