Blatant Ebay plug..!

I'm with Mike and fancy a bid just for the shear hell of it. [:D]

It would be just my luck to win it.

Well if you win it I'll have it off you - even a puny 2.5 will do me at the moment [:D]
Hmmm... 2.5L actually keep going unlike some...Paul...John...etc. [:D]

I spent a small but not insignificant amount of time locating an email address for Simon as I believed I was helping out a fellow lister who had had a major engine failure on the way home from Silverstone a few weeks previously and he needed the lump for his own car.

'Twas Simons own car that failed at Silverstone.
I believe low oil due to trackday enthusiasm, was his first trackday in the '44 []

I know he would love to be in a position to keep the block, but he, as most of us, has a more sensible other half.

I want it for a coffee table.........My lounge wont take a V8 (remember the 928 on Top Gear)

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]So offer it out at cost then, don't put it on eBay and then try to whoop everyone up into a bidding war by posting a link on here and Titanic while pretending it's some sort of favour.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Only five hours to go. Pretty daft time to end an auction - when people with normal jobs are on their way home. Perhaps I will have a snipe after all.

Well, £1850 was the final bid.

Seems pretty reasonable for a new engine when you consider the cost of a used one, so I reckon someone has got a good deal.

Let's hope they look after it!

It's definitely a bargain [:)]

I would have been more than happy to get it for £2k last summer, but I was chancing my arm to get it for a lot less

I was so tempted to put a bid in, it would have been real nice to have one of the last ever factory engines all polished and Zymolled up in my living room [:D]

Damn! Missed it. I was going to seek management approval for £2K as well. [;)]

That's about what "management approval" costs me know....

There was a time when a bunch of flowers would have been enough!

I'm sure the buyer will look after it [;)]

He's a friend of mine and will put it in his silver rose Turbo S.

Been pointed to this thread by marco951 ...

Hey Fen, the Internet is sometimes a "great" place, isn't it ? [;)]

Let's hope fellow sly_alex will get what he paid for.
