Bleeding brakes

Yep, we put 4 lts of fluid through it, including the clutch. Plus Air in the system wouldnt account for the sticky pedal initially? Also the pedal stayed the same even when the brakes were hot. And although I wasnt braking as hard, I did work the brakes on circuit. I'm pretty sure its not just air.

Hugh Think you've got a factory manual[;)] go through the brakes section on bleeding. Did you bleed the accumulator as well ? This is essentially a high pressure servo so can make a difference to pedal feel. If the pump is running rather more than usual you "might" have a little air in there if you tried to bleed it . It's very easy to get air into whilst bleeding it! Failing that you are probably on the right track with master cylinder . Though worth checking through the pedal mechanism first as these can bind up a bit.

Hi Laurence, Yes, I've got a copy of the manual, and we did bleed the accumulator too, hence I think its something else. Although it may be worth just trying this bit again, as its easy to do. I've had the pedal mechanism apart not so long back and greased it all up, when the roll pin failed, so I'm fairly confident its not there - but again its fairly easy to do again. Master cylinder might need doing then - I've never touched it, so it cant hurt. cheers h
