bonnet popping open over the bumps...!

I must add my car to the popping buddy's list. I adjusted it so well now that it won't open at all.[&:]
I don't think that it has these bump stops though.
Where can replacements be found?

Buddy I am in the same boat I can' t open mine either. It' s well stuck down.

You just have to keep trying to get it open It should pop in the end.

Failing that you can drill a hole in the suspention panel and get to it that way.....no you can' t I drilled a hole ready in case this happened to me again .

If yours pops up again it may be worth drilling a hole in the panel that surounds the latch so that when you get stuck you then can drill a small hole in the suspention panel below and then you can get to it with a screw driver to push it out if you get stuck mail back.

So it looks like the bumps stops are not the total answer...hmmm latch then

Any ideas

Ant,

I had that once, turned out to be the adjustable latch on the bonnet wasnt aligned with the hole it goes into properly, so it jammed and wouldnt spring up when released.

Got it open by getting someone to hold the release open whilst I yanked the bonnet from side to side.....

Cheers,
Gav

PS mine' s still popping on its own, after playing with bumpstops, seals, latches and everything... I still think unfortunately its the dodgy repair work around the front pan making everything flex over bumps... doh! Now wheres that mig...

Managed to open the bonnet last night! I had to do the same as you Gav, lodge the release open and then yank the bonnet every which way until it opened.
Also managed to persuade the generator fly wheel hub off with the help of my new sprocket puller (very satisfying). The new pulley halves and hub tuned up this morning so should make for a busy weekend and then I'll be back on the road!

Yep I got mine open this after noon I tried alsorts to get it open. I could not get it open with my little hole I made as the Bl&^dy spare wheel was in the way....

I had to side a thin metal plate in to push at the spring latch untill it poped ,down side is I have damaged the paint alittle grrrrrrrrr. I have adjusted it now still pops..

but not as bad I have new bump stops I am thinking of buying a new bottom latch.

I was in a traffic jam the other day when it happen so I jumped out to shut it and this Bl*&dy Golf driver thought I broke down so drove around me . But as the que had not moved he was in the on coming lane stopping the traffic .What a Dum ass.

To start with what 911/2 has the engine in the front!!!! &^&&% Golf driver ( I can say that I used to be one)
