Boxster Insurance

Hi,

Has anyone got the number of Porsche Insurance Services please? I've checked a couple of issues of Porschepost and can't spot their contact details anywhere! Many thanks in advance!

Very interesting I have one of those Admiral multi car policies and the Porsche part is £186 but then again I am of that certain age[:D][:D] will phone to get a quote

I'm over 40, full UK driving licence (no points/convictions) + IAM for ~20 years, 12 years protected no claims on my other car, car is garaged, factory alarm immobiliser and tracker monitor had 3 years no claims to transfer onto the Boxster and was looking for 6k miles a year social, domestic and occasional commute. Put my wife on the policy too to try and lower it but they came in at £627.50 []

So far, the Admiral multi-car policy has come in the cheapest with the Boxster at ~£460"¦ given I paid £400 last year for the car with Groupama via A-Plan insurance (without the transfer of no claims bonus) it looks like the insurance companies are clawing back their losses through 20% higher premiums []

All those with Admiral etc - you might want to check what is covered.

When we called Admiral, they happily gave a quote, but then we dug around and found that any "extras" (that is ANY Porsche options) were charged extra - for each option. These would not be reimbursed in the event of a claim, only the value of a base car. The extra cost for the options was to "cover the increased risk of it being stolen because you have made the car more attractive to thieves".

If you havent declared all the options, then are you really covered?

If Admiral have changed this stance then it would be great!

Try Direct Line. Both myself and the wife fully comp for £450 with protection and hire car option. (Best I could find in January)

assuming you have a tracker device, otherwise they won;t insure you

I have just joined Porsche Club GB and this is my first post, I bought my Boxster 1998 2.5 and used Aviva throo Swinton for around £250 fully comp protected.

We have all our cars thru A-Plan (IMO above average service from the "perf car group")

Wife just renewed her Boxster at just over £500 for her 987 S bought in 2007 new and highly spec'd (all bits covered Marc .. yes been down those cheapy .. ohh the spare tyre is an optional extra places).. Garage stored in Berkshire .. this is on a two car one person insurance she also has a Smart Brabus on it as well at £ 350 ..

I'd recommend them to any one

Aplan seem to be very good for the Berkshire area - i've tried them before , and because i was located nowhere near any of their southern offices they were absolutely hopeless. But insurance is a complete lottery - so much so that moneysavingexpert website have a section suggesting ways toget your premium down, even suggesting alternative occupations etc etc

LV might be another company worth checking the fine print on - they used to have an awful reputation when it came to settling claims.

Which? recently rated car insurers and NFU and LV were at the top of their list. I have just insured my Mini Cooper S with LV as they were very competitive and the only weakness seemed to be that the windscreen excess is £125 which I think is high. They do not require details of any extras supplied when the car was built, only wanting details of subsequent mods.

Just had my renewal notice from Porsche Club/Marsh/Aviva and it's not gone up from last year. Stunned!

I renewed with PCGB/Aviva for £660 - just a tad over last year's price. NFU was over £1000. Admiral was cheaper but I don't think you'd get much of a payout from them.

We insured our 987 2.7 tiptronic in my girlfriends name, she's 23, I'm 25, we both have no accidents, claims, points, etc and we got it for £817 on an Admiral Multicar policy. That's about £150 less than we paid last year. Not too bad I thought.

Used Admiral for the third year for my Boxster S 2001 £680 along with my Laguna and the good lady's BMW 1 series [:)]

I worry about Admiral, I've posted this before:

So far no-one has posted that Admiral have changed this "policy". I'd love to be reassured!
Having said that I've not heard anyone be refused a claim, but if the above still holds it can't be long...

I just insured the Boxster on a multi-car policy with Admiral and specifically asked the question about 'options'"¦ I was assured by the representative that they were all covered as long as they were factory fit"¦ I asked whether I needed to declare each individual option but was assured they were covered based on the value of the car I had provided (which obviously forms the basis of the quote that they provide)"¦ Hope this helps!

Brilliant!
They wanted to charge us extra for alloy wheels... "They are factory fit - you can't buy it without" "I have to charge you for alloy wheels"

Great to hear that's changed [:)]
