Boxster Picnic 2005

I chatted to a colleague in my Office who said that Nottingham[shire] is almost devoid of suitable places for a picnic - she attended university there for 3 years, but that Derbyshire was known to be 'very suitable'. Since I live in North London and Derbyshire is somewhere North of Watford, I am leaving it for someone in the Midlands to make a suitable suggestion - and I will ask Jane [the female voice of my TomTom] to direct me there.

Perhaps a picnic/pub meeting in mid-August [I know that the school holidays occur then] would be suitable - after all few Boxsters can accommodate more than 2 people [tongue firmly in cheek].

I wonder whether any RO in the Midlands has a bright idea or knows of/has used a suitable place in the past . I suppose that a picnic might be a little bit dangerous in changeable weather and that the place selected should be near a pub/restaurant in case of emergencies. But, what the hell, let's live a bit.

Over to you - North of Watford dwellers...

5 days later; still no progress. I can suggest a nice pub in a Cambridgeshire village with a bird watching hide fairly nearby; and a village green for a picnic. That is a picnic for weather like yesterday, and a pub lunch for a day like today. I can call the pub and try to set something up if anyone is interested.

I know this is too late to go in PP but lets just go for it...

SUNDAY AUGUST 7th meet at Cornbury House Morton-in-march for free tea/coffee and bisuits then a short drive up to Hatton locks for a picnic..

can anyone remember the pubs name on the road just above the locks?

Can't someone find/suggest a suitable spot in 'Middle England' with a nice big car park where we can meet, socialise, eat

might be late but has anyone considered Dunstable Downs ? M1J11, Kites, Gliding, space, Loos, safe, and huge parking space

Jut a thought.

R10 is running an event 3rd annual intermarque gathering it is on Sunday 7 August - 12.30 pm at The Cross Keys pub in Pulloxhill, Beds.

Members from the owners clubs of Ferrari, Aston Martin, TVR, Jaguar, Bentley, Lamborghini, De Tomaso, etc have been invited. The pub is laying on a BBQ for £5 per head and the bar will be available during the afternoon. A number traders have been invited to attend (specialist model cars, wheel refurbisher, dent specialist, etc). Last year there were over 70 cars from a varierty of clubs. .
Might this be a good alternative.

I am in Derbyshire, lots of good pubs - would love a meet up here, quite a few places to go; give me a few criteria and I'll have a word with the respective landlords. Come to think of it, I think will recce a few tonight if it stays dry.
