Brake overheating on trackdays

Had GT3 ducts on my Cayman R. There's hardly any difference in size and don't sit that much lower. Some have fitted GT2 ducts for even more extra cooling...these on the other hand are much bigger and lower.

Graham,

If you're interested, I've just noticed that the GT3 cooling ducts are on sale at £2.72 each plus delivery on DESIGN 911UK (I've seen them elswhere for £33 for the pair..!). It may be worth checking the price at a Porsche Centre for comparison.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff for that, Ive just ordered a pair from Design911UK. The helpful guy at the end of the phone couldn't really believe the price! Thanks also for the fitting guide.

Are there any disadvantages to having the GT3 ducts fitted? reduced ground clearance for example? I'm going to do the NC500 and then to Lewis & Harris - would it be better to delay fitting them until after that trip?
Could you give the part no for the 997 GT3 ducts. When I called Design 911uk the were not too helpful and asked for a 997 chassis number

I too have gone for a set, I will get them on before Blyton Park and will also be trying it with PSM turned off for first time
(weather permitting).

For anyone interested, when I get the ducts fitted next week I am getting the brake fluid changed to Motul RBF660.
I used this page for info,

http://trackdays.ie/best-racing-brake-fluid/

UPDATE,

parts fitted/brake fluid changed, but was advised the brake pads (front and rear) show signs of previous overheating and ideally want
changing to something more trackday oriented.
