Brake upgrade?

ORIGINAL: Hilux

1) Fit PF 97 pads and ATE fluid and it`ll be transformed. £190 ish plus £15 ish.

I'd agree, and another option is you could buy some Porterfield R4-S pads from the States for about half that, which I'm confident are almost as good if not identical (I have some PF97's to go on sometime, so I will be able to do the comparison properly). The R4-S are great for road and track (if you value outright performance and feel) although are probably a bit much for many people (dust, noise, disc wear etc). Can't say I've got on with the ATE fluid, I have boiled both of theirs with ease, I've found Castrol SRF copes better.

......EBC Red Ceramics and I would say that they were positively dangerous. The cold bite is non existent. When cold it felt like someone had replaced the pads with bars of soap. .......

I would echo that. This trait is most noticeable after a good long dual carriageway coming to a roundabout. You need to touch the pedal to pre-heat the brakes ready for when you need them. They certainly don't inspire confidence.

agreed, I had ebc reds and they were awful, went beck to standard pads so at least I can stop in the mornings without having to brake several days in advance.

EBC pads nearly killed me on my bike and Ive refused to use them on a car since. If they were free Id give them away...
