I may of course have been joking CB, too many cars on track tomorrow, no time for heroics.
Talking of taking it too seriously though I do hope you are wearing your FiA homologation, NGT, nomex, fire resistant race suit [:D]

I have also N-GT FiA fireproof Y-Fronts N-GT FiA Resistant socks and shaved the sc***tum in case it catches fire with non-retardent N-GT Nivea sensitive foam which you lent me........[;)]

Jah....der forecasten ich nicht gut fur der Sportwagen ........well suppose the SSR Dunlops will do......[:D] Are you still going run the brand new Toyo 888 Clubsport?

Actually does not look tooo bad just googled the Met...[8D]

SSR's will be perfect...I will struggle on with the Toyos, please don't leave me too far behind Des [:D]

lovely to see you all chaps..and an enjoyable afternoon...shame about the morning where i managed 5 laps, and almost hit 50mph on one of them..

my little rant for the day is about bl00dy radicals & caterhams. why is it that every track day i go to seems to be red flagged by yet another radical sat in the kitty litter/on the grass verge, or a caterham with a feckless driver constantly spinning before finally burying itself in the gravel somewhere.

when the radicals are actually working all they seem to do is badger around behind you on the entry to corners generally getting too close before roaring past on the straights making a god-awful noise for a lap or two before having to pull into the pits yet again to fettle their grunions or grease their weasels or whatever the fcuk they spend all the time doing with bits of bodywork scattered all over the place..

caterhams either buzz around on the entry to corners (see 'radicals' above..) or wheeze around powered by an asthmatic 1200cc ford anglia engine, racing each other badly as they try to out slide each other in every corner whilst bleating on about how many horsepowers they have per ton (forgetting that its reduced dramatically by the two fat middle aged chaps in silly racesuits sat in the thing) and generally just getting in the way all the time. apparantly having a caterham means that their indicators don't work, but also apparantly their rear view mirrors don't work either..
then they fall into the gravel, or bits fall off, or they spend a few hours in the pits polishing their steering wheel centres so that they minimise each little bit of weight...

i thnk they should have their own sessions every track day. the organisers would only need to give them 5 minutes every hour - and that would cover the in & out laps as well...and allow the rest of us in cars to enjoy the trackday.

although to be fair there were two stoppages due to porkers in the barriers today...

Matt

BTW - Vic - hope your car is better mate

Superbly accurate observations Matt and a superb rant. I totally agree with you. They're like annoying bastard wasps buzzing around your ear on a perfect sunny day.

Thanks for the laps Melv.......a wonderful experience, It's a shame it took me so long to finally get a go. Amazingly different from the std car and the way that extra engine starts up at 6k......wonderful.

not bad driving either for an old boy.[;)]

Good day from the point of view of we had a great crowd, other than that it was hard working coping with perhaps the worst track etiquette I have experienced for a few years []
Matt , good points raised, the radical only group would be beneficial to everyone, or otherwise they should race?...As to the fat middle aged blokes in race suits, the marshalls should have a flag they wave to end their session prematurely [:D]

Matt spot on [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Most enjoyable bits of a strange Day:

1. Ride in the Vic Cohen GT2 long time overdue just a really fierce ride and Vic got wound up with a Radicle and let a 996GT2 do his dirty work...fabulous car Vic just awesome

2. Steve Rance driving me round the GP in mine, purely awesome again. Think he reduced the Badger population by 10...Rumble Strip NO let's attack via the lawn!!F**kiNG QUICK!!!

3. Another Ride!!! Yes Matt's mate Matt in a BMW M3 E30....Laugh it was pure Brands GP Drift, literrally throwing round the car, so forgiving and for only 220BHP passed everything.

By the way this was not in any special order......[:D][:D][:D]

Hmmm Matt and Paul u sum it up very well, badly organised from briefing onwards and virtually NO etiquette...............lost both turbos somehow and 2 hrs at Jaz has nt found them yet!!
Good crowd cud have been a good day if run better by the organisers !

Coupla things we have learnt:-

i) when we spot a nob driver, report him to the organisers -I think most of us identified the two Porkers as such before they fell off........maybe we could have prevented this????

ii) ignore marshall's waving when leaving pit lane and leave gap for car in front to get away.

Couldn't agree more about the Radicals and Caterhams -high time they had separate sessions or track days, something I have been banging on about for years......

And Lee......less of the old[;)]

That was a damn fine rant....

I thought this was the best bit

That is sooooooo accurate[:D][:D][:D]

Hope your grunnions get fettled okay Vic - obviously your turbo problem was caused by the rapid deployment of your advanced numbty avoidance technique - not bad reactions for a pensioner[:D][:D]

In defense of guy in Turbo off at Clearways , although i did nt see it myself, gather he was overtaken on wrong side at some speed, then when the guy realised hed gone in too hot ,pushed the turbo way out ........expensive result ............as for the other one i was so close,Tks Tim, i can even describe the burning rubber smell amongst other things !!!

Sencible suggestion to organisors fall on deaf ears, I remember being wiped out by a buzzing jelly mould at Brands 2 years ago [with my daughter in the GT3 ] on the WARM UP lap !!, went looking for the fat b***std , who had done a ruuner from the circuit.
Sorry you have lost your turbo`s Vic, have you checked the glove box.
