C2S, is it worth the extra cash?

Right, here's one to start a comotion...
Is a C2S really worth £5k or more than an equivilent C2.
I know it's a matter of personal taste, but I'm interested in everyone's opinion.
Thanks guys!!
Let the fun the begin!

Mechanically no - but stand behind an 's' - get low down and take a good long look - that is where the £5k goes and if you like the view the extra cash is worth it!

Worth every penny, just look at one they are beautiful [:D] it's not like you're giving the 5 grand away as you get it back if you ever sell the car. If however you're going to be charged interest on that 5 grand it's worth thinking about the NB car. For me I wouldn't have been living the dream if I bought a NB as it's always been the S that I wanted. It's not just about the butt either as the S has many other neat little touches.

Here's some motivation [;)]

You and your mate enter a Bar.

Two girls are standing alone are having a drink at the other end of the Bar.

You approach - one is built like Twiggy - the other like Jennifer Lopez.

Now which one are you aiming to take home that night![;)]

For me the curves must be there - but must be subtle. The S is a great car, but the slimmer model is the one for me.

well, you're right. it does have to be 'S ', I just wanted to see what you all thought.
it does seem the 'S' is very popular with everybody, but has only aesthetic benefits over the NB. But the NB has supposed handling benefits (well beyond myself anyway).
Basically, I'll get the car that feels right at the time, I'm looking at an artic/marble car tommorrow, if all goes well, it'll be mine[:D]
wish me luck

The 2S is a fab car, so , of course is the standard motor, from memory, does the 2S have the turbo brakes, suspension etc ? to lazy to check the specs, anyway if the car is only 5 grand over the standard, given the rarity, of a car in similar condition and specs it would seem a reasonable price. I think I would prefer the S , but I am running a cab with 18"wheels and spacers so it sort of has that S type look at the rear, but on the narrow body.

The 2S is basically a wide body with everything else same as 2.
The 4S is basically the same as the Turbo but with the non-turbo engine.
I suspect I'm oversimplifying that (eg I don't know if the 4S gets the real turbo (hollow) wheels or the look-a-like turbo wheels)

The much bigger (no pun intended) problem is finding a good car, never mind the body shape etc (bit like girls there too then...)

Thanks Mark, could not remember if the S2 had all the other "good " bits as well as the 4 but as you say as always with 993's condition/specs/milage/hisory are everything, and it does not get any easier!!

Carrera S or 2S as it's known has the following special bits: Hollow Spokes when 18" wheels spec'd, 17" cup 2's were standard but very rarely spec'd as most went for the 18's, Wide Body and turbo PU's (bumpers), Special split body colour grille on engine cover, graphite grey painted door step trims, graphite handbrake and gearknob, special S only detailing to the dash and door trims, Carrera S script on rev counter. I think that's about all from memory.

There were so many options available on top of these so every car is a little different.

All S models were fitted as standard with the Option M033 (lowered chassis) suspension, which gives the same ride height as M030 and Turbo setups, but with different spring rates "" standard anti roll bars are fitted. . !
I guess more standard S bits you remeber will be added.[;)]

over the last 18 months have helped my Son buy a high mileage narrow body , sell it for what he paid [ baby arrived ] then very recently buy a less than 50 000 miler S in mint condition, there are some awful cars in both categories and some crazy asking prices ........................just be patient , decide what u want and keep looking until u find the right one at the price you are comfortable with .............genuine cars/ with proper histories command a valid premium........dont be rushed into anything you cant verufy for the recent couple of years ..............all the clues will be there,

I like the S, obviously, it's a nice looking car and has some nice extras, 18" wheels, lowered suspension, full leather interior. I like the narrow car too though, which feels small and nimble, and fun to hustle down a country road (in the dry).
