Camber Plates - Update with photos...

It is worth bearing in mind that you only really need high levels of -ve camber if you are a very good driver and drive the car pretty hard. I suspect for the vast majority of keen track-day enthusiasts -ve camber levels much greater than the standard road settings are not necessary (especially if you have uprated suspension and ARB's) and all you're doing is actually making your car worse, reducing front end grip and causing uneven wear of the front tyres. The only way to do this properly is to go on a track day and after a session on track measure the tyre temps across the width of the tyres and if they are hotter on the outer edge than they are on the inner edge then you need some more -ve camber. No sense in just dialling in -ve camber and hoping it works.

Thanks for all of the very helpful and knowledgeable comments [:)]. On reflection, I think I will be going for a fixed set up running around -2 degrees of camber at the front and see how that goes for the time being. This is similar to the set up that I used to have on my Fiat Coupe track car, so seems like a sensible first step. I'm currently investigating the best/cheapest way to get a more solid top mount and may have found exactly what I am looking for [;)]. I'll let you know as and when I do the deal... Phil

Ok, time for an update, as my new top mounts have just arrived [8D]

Obviously not had a chance to fit them yet, but they should go well with my Gaz Golds, and at a very reasonable price [:)]... I guess that I'm going to be a bit of a guinea pig, as these are the first ones to be produced!! Phil
