Camshaft cover disaster

Really hope no further damage is found!
Like Pete says cant believe some "mechanics" incompetence and as you ssy was (hopefully) a relativly minor incident compared to the cambelt letting go.

Had an email my my mechanic to say he retimed it all and is now up and running and now draining ready for new oil on Monday.

I could almost accept it had I bought the car from a meeting at a motorway services but this one was the owner's pride and joy and in reality, he was the one who had been taken for a mug by his, unfortunate, choice of "spanner". Even more unfortunately, I ended up with the consequences. I'm waiting for the final bill before looking at my options.
