Well I've had a couple of tailored covers from Specialised Covers...an excellent fit, and quite heavy weight. I now have a "standard fit" cover from PCGB (actually Classic Additions Ultimate). Not tailored, so it's a looser fit which I'm happy with as it allows a bit of air flow, but chafing from the looser fit less of a problem for me as my car is white!! Nano fabric repels water well.
Whatever, if outside the UV degrades them, so budget for replacement every 3-4 years, and for me that's some time this year...I'll have another Ultimate. It's half the price...

Hi guys

I went with the CoverZone 'Stormforce' cover at the end, there#s lots to chose from out there but this one seemed to fit my budget and had the wing mirror pockets which makes life a little easier when fitting. We are expecting heavy rain and strong winds later this evening so it will be a good test. Once the car is repainted (hopefully sometime in June) I'll buy an underlay for extra protection for the paint. For now, the cover is fitted to stop rain from getting into my newly leathered interior. There's no point fitting all the new seals until the car is painted

i have a really nicely tight fitted one on my 986s but i tried to find the receipt for t he company for you but i couldn’t find the bloody thing. it has the heavy duty clip in straps that go undernieth to stop the wind blowing it off as i’ve had problems here with that,...the wind gets so strong here as were up high on a hill and it would always blow my covers off even tied to the alloys it would rip the eyelits off. this new one is spot on ,..just for life of me can’t remember the company. it was around £120 i think ?

You don't want the fit to be too tight, need air to flow under it. I'm happy with this one, made up in 4 layers with a soft layer inside although I'll probably buy a seperate inner cover that's extra soft once the car has fresh paint on it, general advice is not to cover a newly painted car for 3-6 months. This cover has two strong quick release straps which go under the car to stop the cover coming off, the mirror pockets help too. A nice touch is some short lengths of silicone tube which fit snuggly over the release clips so that they can't damage the underside or sills when knocking them in a strong wind. The wind is very strong here right now, suppose to ease in the next few hours, cover hasn't blown off...
