Cargrahic exhaust

I am currently having some specially made inserts fabricated to reduce the noise level
down from 106dcb, the idea is to remove the tail pipes, and the inserts are placed inside the outlet pipes on the boxes, then tail pipes re fitted, will let you all know
the end results, my friends who both have 964 rs clubsports have some thinking to
do with both dcb reading an ear shattering 114 and 115 !! this is with no cat or
number 2 muffler, just cat bypass and G pipe installed, mad those 964 rs owners !!!

BTW, I have been assured that the NGT (big bore) system WILL mate to the OEM bischoff heat exchangers by Stuggart and have ordered a set of link pipes on this basis. They should arrive this week so will let you know if they don't fit.
.....I stand corrected, this is just what I was told. Obviously the Cargraphic boxes I have got are of a different design or are not what I thought they were etc etc. I was given them by a friend and took them to be what I was told they were....be interested to hear how you get on John when yours arrive, look forward to report etc.

So Cargraphic make sports boxes for the 993 that dont fit the 993 ?
What cat have you fitted?

The whole system was completely standard all the way through. TBH I didn't think that it was that surprising that the CG boxes didn't mate to OEM manifold / heat exchangers as how often do companies manufacture parts that are not directly interchangeable with other manuf's? Glad to hear that is not the case as makes life alot easier for those who want to buy the CG stuff.

Nice new avatar pics M002.

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Cheers Ben, took me messing about to reduce to a very small file, some of these were
taken in raw image which is a massive file, had to photoshop them down to less than
20kb, the current photo was taken at Bruntingthorpe proving ground for the GT purely
Porsche shoot for the Sept 06 issue

Now you're just showing off with the Riviera text !!

Tried to load some photos of my riviera car up but I keep getting an error in the upload. Remember you said about the "non-member" thing, I had that problem too, I dropped an email to the forum admin guy and he sorted it.

Cheers.

Oh dear, oh dear , been away as u know , just seen this thread ..............honestly dont want to confuse issue any further but Ben theres some things i know abt ur boxes that u may not !!!!!! Deffo Porsche originals, but one was not an rs part, no idea if that changes the gauge of pipes ? Possible Stve tried to match that one first etc ?

Standard C2/4 boxes fit on an RS, there is a slight difference where the RS inlet/exit pipe is a constant guage on the RS appears to taper on the regular carrera boxes,,,the olive connection point was the same...this was comparing gillets.

Ah the wanderer returns.......well if it wasn't RS part that was put on the car it must have been a c2/4 box and going by what Clubsport saying everything interchangeable etc so diff must be with the CG back boxes that JC gave me rather than left / right boxes that were on the car in the first place.

Anyway....pleased all sorted now and all mis-information given by me sorted [:)]

Actually its worse than that , new box o/side was brand new one Bruce had , n/side poss original rs one , i certainly never changed it! Mate who had an rsr has a cover if u want it and a set of BBS to fit .................mail me if any use mate

I am fairly sure the gt system is the larger bore and does not fit the standard rs system, normaly supplied as a complete kit.
What i would say,is dont go fitting these larger bore diameter headers etc to the cars, you will loose some power.
There is not much wrong with the standard headers, race 100 cell kats are not realy essential unless your old ones are blocking up etc.
Why not just have your standard rs silencer boxs modified inside to sound throater, and still get on most track days.To get more power out of the standard rs engine, fit the larger throttle body, race kats, standard silencers with mod, live re map and the best we got at the time was around 330bhpTops.Colin at 9m is best to do this remap etc Or wayne.
The castle combe bolt on tips, dropped my sound by 2dbs,but believe or not killed my power.

thanks Ben, anybody got the Admin email address?
have you adobe photoshop? open your files and find the shot you want,
then reduce the image size down to 145 x 91, this should download ok.
