Cayenne e-hybrid 2024.

Hi Mike.
Thanks for getting in touch through the forum. It’s ironic after a very eventful weekend. We have had many messages flag up In what seems like most times driving the car (I live in London and mainly use the car for longer journeys).
“Engine Control Fault, Driving Possible, Visit Workshop” has flagged up on quite a few occasions but invariably disappears very quickly. Unfortunately “Engine Power Restricted, Driving Possible, Visit Workshop” flagged up on the A1(M) near Ripon over the weekend whilst returning from a wedding. This forced me to move over to the hard shoulder as the car lost more and more power. I contacted Porsche Assistance, (the AA as it turns out unlike other manufacturers). The car was recovered to Harrogate where we were staying and on Monday was recovered to Leeds Porsche Centre - not my supplying dealer. The good news, if there is any, is that the engine light won’t extinguish. The car has had many faults since taking delivery in the middle of October (not sure why mine left the dealership and many others didn’t!).
I do believe the hissing sound is where the problem lies. Something that wasn’t apparent on the pre 2024 model when I test drove one. There is clearly a fuel system problem which needs to be resolved. Porsche don’t appear to be listening to their customers. The fact that my London ‘heading outwards’ shorter journeys are done on e-power wouldn’t bring the fuel problems into play but anything over 40 miles would flag up with problems. The car is not fit for purpose as I bought a hybrid with the environment in mind but need the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer journeys. Please feel free to keep in touch. Hopefully my experience going forward might help with some of the issues you are experiencing.
Kind regards
Martin

Thanks for the reply Martin

Mine was also delivered in October, but I only purchased the car in March 24. I'm really sorry to hear about your weekend trip, what did Porsche Leeds say the problem was?

My main problems appear to be software related and unfortunately intermittent! Your problem has rather concerned me, as the car spends about 4 months a year in France. There a very few dealers in France, and it's our only car there.

I am about to write to the DP at the supplying dealership, as I feel I want to reject the car, so if you have any more information that would be really useful. Do you have any more information of why the early car deliveries were delayed?

All the best

Mike
