Cayman GTS 4.0 Stuck in Emden

Elbe Highway is about 2 miles offshore from Emden and she left just over an hour ago. She is due to arrive at Sheerness at 0800 tomorrow morning.

There are no other RoRos in port at Emden at the time of writing.

As confirmation, your SA can tell you which vessel she is on.

Yeah but the ship has fireball Taycans on board so don't get too excited until it's safely on land :ROFLMAO:

Enjoy the car..

My Cayman GTS 4.0 is arriving at my OPC tomorrow.

Collecting Thursday afternoon.

Can't wait!

Good news Mark - seems mine is still stuck at Emden, but I've been promised an update tomorrow (which probably means I'll be chasing again by the end of the week!).

Great news Mark.

@ owensc1 Not sure where in the UK you are but here are the RoRos due in to the UK

1. Danube Highway due to leave Emden today and arrive at Grimsby tomorrow however she isn't moored at the Porsche dock but this could be an overspill location.

2. Elbe Highway is due to leave Emden on the 24th and arrive into Grimsby on the 25th then returns to Emden on the 27th to load up and then arrive in Sheerness on the 29th. She then returns to Emden after a couple of other loads in the EU to leave on the 8th July arriving on the 9th then arrives again at Emden a couple of days later to reload and sets sail for Sheerness on the 11th arriving in Sheerness on the 13th July.

Thanks Dan - I'm in Dorset, so we'll have to see. I'm annoyed now that the OPC pushed me to part-ex my main car before the end of last month, expecting at the time to take delivery this week. I've been left using my Skoda Citigo ever since, and for some long journeys too. It's been really hard throughout the last 21 months or so to get any status updates from my OPC, and I've had to chase regularly, as promised call-backs have rarely been made. Having owned 3 Porsches before (one of which I bought from them and another I got serviced there too), you'd think they would be keen to keep me happy. However, they cycle through staff constantly - as with most of his predecessors, my current Sales Exec (the 4th allocated to this order) is a nice guy and helpful when I can get through to him, but just seems completely swamped with work. I'm resigned to just waiting until they tell me the car has actually turned up locally now, which I can't see happening until July, and it will sadly be more of a relief than an exciting experience.

Welcome to the joy of dealing with Porsche Bournemouth😡

I can sympathise somewhat. I used my Son's Kia Picanto for 3 months to keep the mileage down on my Base Cayman before the GTS arrived. TBH it was quite fun and so cheap to run. £30 for a tank of fuel that would last 350 miles.

It may be safe to say that yours will arrive in Sheerness on the 29th. Give it another week waiting for a truck to your OPC then 2-3 days for PDI and prep so I'd probably say early July.

Collected my new Cayman GTS 4.0 on Thursday.

Loving it so far!

Here are a couple of pics.

Looks stunning Mark, enjoy the running in period....then post 1800 miles realising what an awesome engine you have acquired.

Looks great Mark. And out if the blue, it seems my BGTS arrived at the OPC yesterday too. I’m hoping to collect it Wednesday or Thursday and to get it straight to a PPF specialist, so I should get to start enjoying it properly next week. My Sales Exec says the colour combination looks amazing - but then that’s almost certainly said about them all!

That's excellent news Chris.

What colour did you go for?

Mark

Aventurine Green with platinum wheels and a black roof. Inside is the GTS interior pack with red stitching /seat belts and some added carbon on the steering wheel, gear lever & car key. I've attached a picture of the car when in the factory from My Porsche
