Greetings all [:D]

A few of us are meeting up in the Derbyshire area at the Barrell Inn in Bretton (http://www.thebarrelinn.co.uk/) at 11am on Sunday 9th May:

Dave (Twinfan)
Erica (Erica D)
Martin (Martin_Davis)
Mrs D
Oli (OliR)
Dan [possibly, to be confirmed] (Scrounger)

I've moved Erica's existing booking (from a previous plan) from the 2nd to the 9th so we will have a table of six from 12pm - 2pm. Erica will be recovering from a foot operation so at the moment I'll be picking her up en-route from her home in Hathersage. However, scrambling out of a bucket-seated GT4 might be awkward(!) so if anyone has space in a more suitable vehicle and is happy to pick her up instead please shout up.

The plan at the moment is to meet in the pub's car park at 11am for a chat and a drink, and then those who want to stay for food can do so but if others want/need to leave or go for a drive elsewhere they can. If you want to join us please comment in the thread so we know who to expect, and if more want to join us for food we'll need another table so again let us know.

Here's to some decent weather and a good old chin wag at a pub like people used to do in the olden days! :ROFLMAO:

Hi Dave,

Sorry, but I thought that we had arranged Sunday the 9th May, I think that the 9th July is a Friday?

Cheers,

Martin

Thanks Martin - I meant May! I have absolutely no idea where July came from!

I've updated the thread, sorry about that...

Just to confirm, I've rung the pub and our existing booking has been moved to Sunday 9th so we're good to go [:D]

be nice if you guys turned up here, it's a massive place and 50 R's and 12 Spyder booked in.

but there you go

Cayman R & Boxster Spyder 10th Anniversary Event on Sunday 9th May at the Sharnbrook Hotel.

Porsche Cayman R & 987 Spyder Exclusive Petrolheadonism Meet Tickets, Sun 9 May 2021 at 11:00 | Eventbrite
Hi Mr Demon,

Ciro and his team run some great car events from the fabulous Sharnbrook Hotel and I’m sure that their meeting on the 9th May will be no exception, you’ll have a great day.

Ciro, who runs Petrolheadonism is also a keen Porsche fan and has a fabulous modified Cayman.

Unfortunately, it’s not exactly on our doorstep and I have other commitments that weekend as well as our drive out in the Peak District, hopefully we’ll be able to attend one of the other Petrolheadonism events at some point soon.

Just a thought, but why don’t you start a new thread to encourage some other Cayman and Boxster owners to attend?

Cheers,

Martin

No problem Martin, happy to help out and I'm looking forward to meeting you and the other attendees [:)]

Hi Dave,

Phil and Anika York from R5 would also like to join us on the 9th at the Barrel Inn, in their fabulous yellow Cayman. Presumably we could book two tables of six, if we can get the numbers up to 12?

With this in mind, Paul and Sam Grundy, also from R5 said that they might possibly join us if they can in their super Miami blue Cayman.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Sounds good! Can one of you/them book a second table directly with the pub? Might be easier to manage that way.

Sounds like it'll be a car park full of yellow and blue!

Will do Dave, I’ll ask Phil to book another table of six in the hope that Paul, Sam and a couple of others join us.

There are loads of those yellow Caymans around, not so many of the faster Miami blue ones though... 😉😂

Will we have enough cars to go yellow, blue, yellow, blue etc? Just going to upset my OCD otherwise :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like we can do yellow/blue/yellow/blue/yellow with 718 GT4s on each end?

The pesky blue ones are going to be mismatched models though. Bleedin' amateurs...

Morning all! Hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend? Fingers crossed we get better weather for Sunday than yesterday - what a wash out!

Do we have any more possible attendees? Dan - do you know your work situation yet?

-Dave

Good morning Dave,

Agreed the weather has been dreadful, although we did manage to get out for a nice drive to Hathersage with some friends on Sunday.

Paul and Sam Grundy have told me this morning that they will be coming and I have asked Phil and Anita York to book a second table of six, so ideally we could do with two more Cayman’s or another couple to join us.

Martin
