Cayman owners meet - Derbyshire area on Sunday 9th May

At the moment I'm not working but want to square it off that I'm not required by OC home command. If needs be I'll throw in the brownie points I've accrued over the BH (just let her buy a new couch) [:D].

Ha ha, nice one Dan!

The weather looks 'OK' for Sunday - warm enough at 17deg but with a touch of rain forecast. I hope the outdoor seating area is covered...

For those that are interested, perhaps we could meet at the McDonalds (Wickes) Car Park in Macclesfield (Silk Retail Park, SK10 2SF) at say 10:00am and drive together to the Barrell Inn from there?

Sure, happy to do that although I'm supposed to be picking up Erica en-route from Hathersage.

Erica - do you still need a lift?

Hi Dave, I can get a lift there if you want to drive from Macclesfield with Martin. I just need someone to drop me home? Thanks Erica

OK, cool I can drop you home afterwards no problem - as long as you can get into low slung bucket seats with a poorly foot?????

Thanks Dave, I should be ok if you’re ok to drop me back .. I can bend and move, and it’s only the foot that’s incapacitated. ☺️ I’m not in a brace or a pot or anything. I just can’t weight bear or drive on said foot so should be ok to slide myself into a low slung seat! I’ll see you all there at 11 ish. I’ll owe you 🥃...

Cool - sounds like a plan then!

Martin, I'll meet you at 10am in Macc no problem. Might get there a bit earlier for a cheeky Egg McMuffin and a coffee......

Folks, apologies but I'm going to have to take a rain check. My lad has arranged to pick up his first car on Sunday and I'd like to be with him to give it the once over. There's no amount of brownie points that would get me out of that one and I'd be banished to the shed for at least a year:rolleyes:

I hope the rain Gods stay away and you enjoy your scoff. I'll get the boy to make me a bacon butty as payment for my services so at least I'll be with you in spirit.

Drive safe everyone.

Dan

Cheers Dan, enjoy the time with your son - that's definitely an occasion not to be missed!

Catch you at another meet sometime...

Nice one - see you there Brian! The weather forecast looks "average", but better than today.

Martin - I'll see you in Macc at 10am with whoever else is joining you/us [:D]

Hi All,

Really poor form from me to cancel last minute however had an urgent family issue come up.

Hope the weather holds out for you all.

Oli

Just to say a big "Thank you" to Twinfan (Dave) who dropped me home as I currently can't drive in his beautiful bright yellow cayman from the Barrel Inn today - we were lucky as the weather held out (it was a bit windy though) and I met lots of lovely cayman and boxster owners. Only a tad envious as my 987 would have been the oldest in the car park by far had it been there. There were some lovely motors there - so thank you for bringing them out for a drive. Food was good too...

You're very welcome Erica - thanks for the pub suggestion! After I'd dropped you off would you believe I ended up behind Martin, Paul and Phil leaving Hathersage? Fabulous timing [:)] Thanks again to everyone who came along, including spouses of course. It was great to meet you and I'm looking forward to the next catch-up. Sorry you couldn't make it in the end Oli, see for the next one hopefully.

I tell you what, I thought I got a lot of attention driving around in my car. Try driving in convoy with two Racing Yellow and two Miami Blue Caymans through little Derbyshire villages - whoa! :ROFLMAO:

A quick pic of the cars unfortunately before Phil arrived so not quite the full set...

Thank you Erica and Dave for getting us organised for our run out this morning. Angela and I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and meeting up with you all.

We hope that we will be able to join another Cayman drive out soon.

Sounds like you had a good run out. Dave, could you send me a copy of any photo(s) that could be included in my Porsche post report.

Thanks, John

Hi John,

Yeah, it was a nice run out. I was too busy chatting to take any pics(!) so I've only got the one above, however Phil and Paul might not wish to have their cars published although I've blacked out the number plates. Maybe Martin, who also took pics, has something that could be used and could check if he has permission from the owners who he knows much better than I do!

Hi John & Dave,

I have just sent some images to John.

I have no issue with my own number plate being shown.

Kind regards,

Martin

Hellooo, well what a day that was as it turned out. An hour late .. oops.

The run home in glorious yellow, yellow, blue, blue sequence then a quick run around the Owler Tor rocks to pick up dave at the back again to convoy this time in yellow, blue, blue, yellow was so well timed it was a treat, then through castleton - flying up winnats pass must have looked spectacular for the sheep! and what a buzz it was to drive. I'll be smiling all week after that.

No issue with needing to hide details on pics, that was rightly front cover stuff.

Phil
