Caymans & Coffee - Sunday 22nd March 2020 - CANCELLED

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Coronavirus today, 16 March 2020 I have regretfully decided to [style="background-color: #ff0000;"]CANCEL[/style] the Cayman Register meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe which was due to take place this coming Sunday, 22 March 2020. I feel that it would be irresponsible to go ahead with this meeting as we would not be following the latest guidance......

now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel. And you should avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues. we advise against unnecessary social contact of all kinds, https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020

I’m sorry to disappoint those of you who expressed an interest in attending. Rest assured that I’ll be organising another meeting when it’s safe to do so.

edited to add: As of 17th March 2020 the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe is temporarily closed until further notice.

Is it time to dust off your Cayman and attend another Cayman Register informal meeting?

I hope you’ll join me at the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe (click here for web page with directions etc) between 09:00-11:00 on Sunday 22nd March 2020 - the Cafe is in The Old Control Tower which is on the left as you enter the circuit (do not go through the tunnel), post code PO18 0PH. I know March 22nd is mothers day so either bring your mother with you or take her out for lunch later, this also clashes with the Das Feuer event and possibly others as well!

The Goodwood Motor Circuit Diary (link) indicates that there are no events on that day, I have spoken to the Cafe supervisor/manager and confirmed that there are no other clubs booked in and they are now expecting us.

In order for me to let the cafe know how many to cater for please post here to let me know if want to attend, state whether you will be bringing a passenger and will be ordering food.

Note: For those travelling from the west please be aware that there are roadworks on the M27 where there is a 50mph speed limit and average speed cameras operating between junctions 4 and 11.

Andrew. Thanks for organising things like this. This date clashes with the Das Feuer event near to the PCGB offices in Morton in the Marsh...I'm already booked to attend that so can't make your event it which is a pity. I regularly get down to Goodwood for events like the breakfast club but normally take advantage of the airfield to fly and combine two interests that both involve flat engines.

Sadly, this is the same day as the 'Das Feuer' event near the Clubhouse which we have bought tickets for.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for organising this. I'll come along, with my wife Vivien. Just the one car though.

Best regards

Ian

Hi Andrew.

I will be there for my first appearance at a club event.

Please be gentle with me!🏎☕🍰

Hi Andrew,

I've marked it in my diary and will be looking to attend, subject to not being away for work. I may well have my wife with me.

Regards,

Rod
