Caymans & Coffee - Sunday 22nd March 2020 - CANCELLED

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for organizing, my wife and I would like to attend, if there is still space available.

Cheers, Neil

Hi Andrew,

I’ll be attending with a passenger as well and will probably be ordering food too.

Looking forward to my first Cayman register event.

Just to reiterate some things I posted previously in this thread....

I’m keeping a list of attendees in my post at the beginning of this thread https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1051728

On the day just turn up any time from 09:00, chat to other owners, kick tyres, go to the cafe for something to drink or eat, more chat and tyre kicking, then head for home by 11:00. It’s all very informal, no tables are reserved so it’s just a case of finding a space.

I have spoken today to the manager of the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe to confirm that around 40 people will be attending and wanting beverages and/or food on 22nd March.

It was pointed out to me that Goodwood Motor Circuit will be in the process of setting up for the forthcoming Members Meeting, therefore we will not have full access to the gravelled parking area so it will be a case of park where you can.

Hi Andrew,

I presume at this point everything is going ahead as normal, re the ever changing COVID-19 situation?

Thanks

Hello Steven,

Yes at the moment it’s going ahead as planned but I’ll be keeping a close watch on any government or club advice, and that assumes that the cafe remains open. I’ll post any changes here before the weekend so for now I advise everyone to check here again before setting out next Sunday.

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Coronavirus today, 16 March 2020 I have regretfully decided to cancel the Cayman Register meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe which was due to take place this coming Sunday, 22 March 2020. I feel that it would be irresponsible to go ahead with this meeting as we would not be following the latest guidance......

now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel.

And you should avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues.

we advise against unnecessary social contact of all kinds,

I’m sorry to disappoint those of you who expressed an interest in attending. Rest assured that I’ll be organising another meeting when it’s safe to do so.

Thanks for letting us know in good time Andrew. Obviously disappointing but it was the only sensible decision really. Viv and I will look forward to coming along when it is re-scheduled.

I thought the same after the announcement an hour ago. Understandable decision. Hopefully we'll all make it back there later in the year!

Thank you very much for letting us know so promptly. Yes, best to avoid things like this for now unfortunately, but ours and our loved ones health is so much more important.

Stay safe everyone and we'll see each other later in the year hopefully.

Tough call Andrew but we all know it is the right thing to do.

Thank you for your efforts. Hopefully there will be events to look forward to

in the future.

Thanks for the update Andrew, although unfortunate it's definitely the right decision.

Looking forward to a Cayman Goodwood meet-up when rearranged.

Cheers - Tony

The latest news from Goodwood is that: As of 17th March 2020 the Goodwood Motor Circuit Cafe is temporarily closed until further notice.

Thanks Andrew. It had to happen. Look forward to seeing you again when the dust settles!

Cheers

Alan
