Celebrity 944

Watching Top of The Pops last night, prior to a bit of JC, and who should appear but a band called Muse. As it happens I bought a round dash 944 from their road sound engineer a couple of years ago, it was bought by the band for a song video which unfortunately never got made, when I acquired it she was half way through a black respray for the abortive vid.. The car is B180 OUT if anyone sees it.
Does anyone else have any albeit tenuous connections with celebrity 944, or know of any stars that have owned one.

Apparently one of the "kemp" brothers (the ex-eastenders one) used to have 944's in the '80's - he said so on one edition of Top Gear.

If I remember rightly, the initial scene with the Mitchell brothers was the two of them driving a silver 944 turbo up to the arches in Eastenders.

Cant remember who was driving, though

In my Ebay browsing a few months ago I have seen the ex-Martin Kemp one advertised, a black turbo I seem to remember.
Also one apparently owned by Elton John.

The ex Kemp Mobile was a Black 1990 Turbo which he only owned for a couple of months. It was auctioned on e-bay about 6 months ago for about ÂŁ7K (had quite a high mileage and needed a few jobs, and had non-leather interior). Only remember it becuase it lives in Whitley Bay (or did) just down the road from me!

Black for a spandau ballet star?I thought it would have been "Gold" myself![:)]

I heard he sold it because it was too highly strung for him and the steering was a bit heavy. To cut a long story short he wasn't musclebound enough and nearly lost it once, almost going through the barricades near his house, but luckily it just spun round and round and came to rest.

This thread needs a lifeline... (and surely no one will dare admit to knowing any more)!

I'm trying to think of more, but I'm struggling with you all watching. I guess I don't need this pressure on.

Actually his girlfriend was really sad to see it go as she was quite attached to it, in fact she loved (it) like diamond.

I'm done. I'm having to start thinking about it now whereas I got the rest purely on instiction.
