Choice of wheels

Hi Dan

As a fellow OCD sufferer, they are already done 😂

That was my concern with black but I will probably have them as summer wheels 👍

Steve.

Hi Steve,

I have to concur that the black on black is the best look. It's not a combo I'd typically go for, but having seen yours, my mind is changed. Stunning looking car and as Twinfan said - test mule look! Proper head turner with looks and sound!

In terms of S/GTS vs. GT4 debate....

I've had my 981 GTS now for 2 weeks. Prior to getting it, I was back and forth on various cars and my shortlist was 981 GT4 and 981 GTS. Every emotion was saying GT4, but my head and best friend (he's owned a 993tt) said GTS. Even the sales guy at Redline said it's the wisest move. I think as the salesman put it - "where do you go from a GT4? At least you have something to build from and aim for with a GTS". It made total sense with it being my first Porsche. I know that I'll probably go and get one in 18-24 months to itch that scratch, love it for what it is, but then see the true beauty of the GTS. Who knows, I might love it? I'd be getting one as I ache for one, not me being a good driver who tracks. I guess this is the beauty of Porsche in that their cars stir emotion like few do. All I will say is that in my limited time of driving my GTS and I've not scratched the surface, it is already screaming potential lifer to me. And given that all I want a car for weekend drives and driving holidays, the GTS is probably all I'll ever need.

Hi Ray,

It's an interesting debate. I am the same, I think until I scratch the GT4 itch, I will always wonder but at the moment I am happy with my 'S', particularly as its not financed, where as the jump to a GT4 would involve monthly payments again and as I only use is weekends its a difficult one to justify (to the wife!). Even in 2 years and 5000 miles I don't feel I have scratched the surface of what the car is capable of for the same reasons as you. Its definitely fast enough, so that wouldn't be a reason to switch to GT4.

For now I will just keep enjoying the car. I want to take it up to the Silverstone Porsche experience. I did a GT3 experience there earlier in the year as a birthday present which was incredible. While I was there I enquired about some driver training in my own car, which they do, so that's a definite date for next year.

Steve

Totally agree Steve and I think 2 years down the line, I'll be like you and still exploring what my car is capable of. I'm in the same boat regarding finance, I took out some finance on the GTS, so I'd want that paid up first before the next step as otherwise my guts would be garters [:D]

Looking good. Had a similar transformation with my car when I changed to sport techno wheels.
