Cleaning Fuchs wheels

Yep, I use Speedy too. I've been using it for the last year or so on my original anodised rims and have been very happy with the results. It does leave a chalky residue if you don't buff it properly though.

Jamie,

In the long term, you may wish to think twice about using a polish (which contains abrasive) on the anodized section of the rim. Every now and then is ok, but used regularly, you are removing some of the anodized finish each time. Of course, this may never be a problem in our lifetimes as the amount may be very small - I don't really know.

The wisdom I have heard, however, is that you should feed the anodizing with Vaseline from time to time and only polish rarely.

I have a question regarding stained anodizing. Anyone had success removing stains? I had a tyre fitter who used some unknown chemical on a section of one of my 8x16 rims that left a stain when he tried to clean a mess of his own making. I have also had a little grease stain that has left a (seemingly) permanent mark on a front rim - 6x16. I rarely use the 6 inch rims, so I don't care too much about them, but the 8 bugs me.

Richard,
I hear what you say, I probably shouldn't use the polish too much, but it's not as if I'm washing the car every week (or every month for that matter !!). I might give the old Vaseline trick a go next time.
As for removing stains I haven't any bright ideas I'm afraid. Obviously polishing them out leaves the danger of taking off the anodising too.
