Thanks, it's always good to know that people have enjoyed these events and makes it worth the time to organise them. As usual the weather played it's part. As they say if you want to make god laugh tell him your plans.
We had a good mix of cars turn out on Sunday and good size convoy heading off at 10.00am for Warkworth Castle but by the time we got there the weather had taken a massive down turn. Not hanging around too long we decided it was best to head off for our lunch at the Alnwick Treehouse. They were very accommodating and allowed us to park around the foot of the Treehouse for our photo shoot, then in for a spot of fine dining, fitting us in earlier than our allotted time, looking like a bunch of drowned rats. May I also say a special thanks to David who in the spirit of the event drove down from his home in Warkworth to join in the convoy only to drive all the way back up, even kindly offering us all a quick cuppa at his house to shelter from the torrential rain (seemed unfair for a crowd of Porsches to turn up at his front door though!).
From Alnwick Castle we all went our own ways. Deb & I headed on to Bamburgh, then on to Holy Island in glorious sunshine - typical R3 event; brollies & sunglasses!
Hopefully we'll have a similar turnout but better weather on the 26th for the run along Hadrians Wall to meet up with R18.
