Hello all, as some of you already know, I have been asked, in my role as Armed Forces Events team and PCGB R4 ARO, to organise a Wings & Wheels event by North East Lincs Council. The date given to me is 15th September, which is the end of Battle of Britain week.

So the "Cleethorpes, Battle of Britain Wings and Wheels " is born.

Location for this event is Meridian Park, kings Road, Cleethorpes. DN35 0PL. http://www.nelincs.gov.uk/resident/arts--events-and-tourism/meridian-park/

Porsche club GB R4 are taking the lead in this show, with a celebration of 50 years of 911. Therefore we are looking to get 50 different Porsches to make up our diplay. This will not be restricted to R4 members and will be first come first served by reservation. Cost will be £2/car with the donation given to the Armed Forces events team. Public access will be £1 for adults, OAP's and children Free. For this you will get a full day secure parking, overnight by arrangement. A full motor show of Classic, sports and utility vehicles. A street concours event for PCGB members, Simulator rides,Flying display featuring fast jet and Battle of Britain Aircraft + more TBC and hopefully a full scale Lancaster fuselage.

A street Concours is much more relaxed . Only the car's exterior, interior and a storage compartment will be judged. Points are deducted from a maximum possible value based on condition and cleanliness and trophies are awarded to the top cars in each class.

All vehicles need to be in Place before the trade gates close at 10:30. Public access will open at 11:00 until 16:00. Once the public have vacated the site, the trade gates will re-open to let all vehicles out of the site. No vehicles will be allowed to move whilst the public are on site!

The location is less than 100yds from Pleasure Island theme park. It is situated on the seafront and next to the smallest bar in the world at the Signal Box. A Grill Bar serving home made lincolnshire produce, a vintage local home made Ice cream van, A pig roast stall, Crepe suzette bar, Coffee bar and a licenced bar will be available within the venue or take a short walk to taste fresh Grimsby Fish & chips or all you can eat Chinese restaurant.

If anyone has links to any other Car/Motor club and thinks that it would make a nice display, please forward details to me ASAP. Cost remains Donation of min £20/club. This is a charrity event and not a profit making organisation!

For anyone needing accomodation, I have negotiated reduced prices with various Hotels at different grades 2-4 star.

Hope to see you all there

Gavin

I am currently looking for Racing Cars, Historic cars and rare examples to display at Cleethorpes Wings & Wheels. I also need a contact for a Formula 1 type simulator, for those who attended East kirkby Piston and Props, it was the Jordan f1. If anyone has any ideas for demonstration vehicles or Military and aviation items to display, contact me ASAP. Anyone with Trade stands, Clothing, memorabilia, models, books, I have trade spaces available at donations of Min £25. We are expecting in excess of 2000 people to attend, hopefully a lot more!

So far, I have 4 cars for the Wings & Wheels from R4 (incl mine and Richard's). I am looking to get 50 cars for the PCGB display, 1 for each Year of 911s. It would be nice to try to get as many different models and specs as possible ie: not only 914, 928, 356 etc but 996 C2, 996 C4, 996 GT3 etc. Could members considering attending, please let me know ASAP as I will need to approach other regions to make up the numbers. Likewise, if you know anyone with something interesting to display, please pass on my details. Tiger Tank with a Porsche Turret would be most welcome! Regards Gavin

Hi Gavin, Veronica and Kevin would like to join you all for 15 Sept 2013 Wings and Wheels event. When would you like payment ? Thanks.

Hi Gavin, I'm considering attending this event..... Put me down on your list & I will confirm with you asap. Regards Paul

Thanks , Have added all to the list. Money not required just yet, Richard will collect it later TBN. Still looking for more vehicles, if anyone knows of someone who may like to attend, particularly 356, 914, Panamera, Cayenne and especially 917 , oh well we can dream! The attendance list for clubs and private entrants is continually growing, recently I have secured a static Spitfire (not Triumph) and Douglas Bader's Alvis.

So far, as of 22 June, I only have 12 cars on the list for Cleethorpes Wings & Wheels and not all of those are from R4. We have 130+ members so come on guys and girls help me out. I need 50 Porsches for 15 Sept, I've not had a problem getting plenty of names for Scampton Families day (funny old thing). Otherwise things are progressing quite well, uptake from other clubs has been steady with about 23 clubs and Marques confirmed to date. I also have quite a few very rare or special cars attending individually. If anyone knows anybody with something unusal, rare or show worthy, please put them in contact with me; it can be a car, bus, truck, bike or scooter. I am also still looking for trade stands with motoring, aircraft or military connections, but that is not exclusive!

Hope to be there esp. as you seem to be trying hard to get up the nunbers. Details to follow as to arrival etc? Andrew

Would like to bring the 356 as a definite and maybe the 997 also if we can get the kids interested. Paul and Michelle Jackson

Come on guys, despite my hopes to get 50 Porsches to celebreate 50 years of 911s; so far I only have 14 cars including those from other areas! With only 5 weeks to go, I am busy organising this event with 100s of others attending. As Porsche are the featured marque and have pride of place around a Spitfire on the entrance to the arena, it would be appreciated if we can achieve the promised 50 cars. Hell it's a cheap day out at £2/car for the day, it costs £7 for parking in Cleethorpes. We have 130 members in the R4 region, 22 of whome live in and around the Cleethorpes area. Funny how we never struggle to fill the Scampton/Red Arrows days? Please e-mail or enter on forum if interested. Gavin R4 ARO

Graeme, If you know any TIPEC guys who would like to attend, they would be most welcome. We have no upper limit on cars for a change, but it would be nice to achieve the 50 min. Gavin
