Clubs Joint Karting Event at Daytona Milton Keynes

ORIGINAL: pse_SC Hi, all. Please note, I have sent the following email to all attending the Karting... IMPORTANT Re: Karting Event (Friday 23rd March) Glad you’re all coming... There are a few changes to the event due to numbers (being more than envisaged), therefore we will now have to do something other than the 30 endurance race. We need to opt for the “Exclusive Daytona Grand Prix Heats” (no extra cost), however it will be a longer race, therefore the arrival time would have to be 10:30 rather than 12:00 – see info below: Exclusive Daytona Grand Prix Heats... Each driver will take part in a practice session to get used to the karts and the track. After every driver has taken part in one practice session, the racing begins. Each driver will take part in 3 qualifying heats to try and put themselves in the best position on the grid for the semi-final. Once the semi-finals have been completed the top 20 drivers would make it through to the Grand Final, racing to the chequered flag and the top step of the podium. Hope this is OK with you all - the main thing is to be there earlier than originally stated (I would still suggest being earlier than their start time, too, say 10am?). See you there! Kind Regards Paul Ebbs PCGB Region 10 r10@porscheclubgb.com 07769 805594 P.S. Ashley Miller +3 - I assume you can inform James Ockenden, Ken and Lewis Sinclair, please, as they were booked in by yourself, I believe. Thanks.
What time is this expected to finish??

Sorry, don’t know, Mike. I’ll email Beccy (Merc Club) and see if she has any idea on that.[;)]

The Karting event will be finishing around 1pm-1.30pm, I’m told. See you there[:D]

Sorry you couldn’t make it, Paul and thanks, Pete. I reckon we all had a fantastic day, with the great weather being a big contributor[8D]. Personally, as my first foray into karting, I enjoyed every minute and everyone looked to be having good fun as well[:D] The number of spins and spills were to be expected, apart from a particular gentleman who ended up winning the day (it looked like he was on a Sunday drive to us spectators), as he was, apparently, an ex professional karter - last winning nationally about 10 years ago.[;)] My particular thanks go to Beccy Stevens from the Mercedes Owners Club for making this all happen for our three clubs. (and Robin and Jo for turning up to give their special support)[:)] Er, talking of support - has anyone got a spare motorised human body they don’t need?... Mine seems to have seized up[8|].

Great day[:)]. Thanks Paul. Good to be with you all. Sorry had to push off a little early [:(] Well done to all for making it fun. See you all soon. [:)]

Who won? Did the BMW team wear their brakes out and did the Mercedes team stop to let the Porsche team out at junctions? [;)]

It wasn’t down to marque performance after all - it was every man/woman for themselves. The guy that won was aligned to the BMW faction, I think... main thing was we had a great laugh.[:D] I can say that I was well at the back at times, but this gave me a chance to investigate the circuit without all the bloomin’ traffic (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it[:)]).
