Colours! Colours! Colours!

Some other pics, as you expressed an interest...

Horizon blue is similar to Fountain and as such not many people can tell you the difference (including me!!)

There is a guards red turbo that I see from time to time and it looks absolutely fantastic! Do you have the courage to go with such a bold colour? [8D]

Go for the macadamia metallic!

On second thoughts don't go for the Brown as I enjoy having a colour that nobody else has got !

Think you should go for the GT3 Green or Orange! Or if sensible Estoril Blue! Looks fantastic.

I assume the estoril blue car is the new facelifted version?

Anyone know when the facelift is available from?

It will prob be 6 months after the Carrera facelift and that prob won't happen until MY09 (Sept 2008 delivery). Porsche may have an early MY09 though for the facelift Carrera depending on how their sales are looking of the non-facelift versions.

I believe sales (in the US at least) were recently reported to be up, so I wouldn't wait unless you absolutely can't live without Direct Injection and slight cosmetic redesign. PDK is a big maybe for the facelift Turbo. Porsche also need to still bring out the Turbo powerkit and S version somewhere.

My Turbo order is destined for collection Aug / Sept 2008 now. Dealer can't tell if its facelift or not?

Think I am going to ring round and try for a cancelled order with shorter delivery time? What do you think? New car does look fab though!

No, the dealer won't know. They may have an 'idea' when the Carrera facelift will be coming, which you can probably use as a reference point for the Turbo facelift (perhaps 6 months afterwards).

If you can wait then do so as Direct Injection will be a good one to have. More power (about 4% based on Cayenne facelift) and better fuel econony (perhaps around 10% better). If you order now, you probably won't get a build slot until summer 2008, so you might as well wait for the MY09 to come out just in case it is a facelifted version. There will of course be a base price jump for MY09.

Common thinking is the most sorted versions of a new model (eg. 997) will be out 1 model year after the first release. So really MY08 for the Turbo (started Aug 07) is ideal. It's like a Microsoft Operating System, stay away until there has been at least 1 Service Release version!!

If I was ordering from new now, I would wait for the facelift myself ie. keep your order as is. Either way, good luck with the wait. It's been quite an ordeal for me...

I have posted quite a few Turbo pics now over on the new 997 Members Only forum (plus on the main site gallery)

If you are in the market for a new 997 (especially a Turbo) then I suggest you check the section out as it has many examples both of exterior and interior configurations.

Let me know though if you are looking for something specific. I have a few thousand pics stored on my laptop so have pretty much every possibility.

Alex.

Thanks for the pics. I really am keen to go blue......I think. I want to do something with the interior too. Nothing too loud but not just all black. I've seen some of your pics on the members forum..........interesting!!
