It seems the owner of this stunning example just abandoned it next to the shiney 911's without even jacking it up and facing the valves to the floor or brushing lines into the carpets, the same individual was later seem running around in a Hi Vis tabard and camo shorts.......... some people eh? [:D]

Could the owners of the two 964s pictured above please contact me ASAP at 964@porscheclubgb.com as neither of them appear on the 964 Register.

Great pictures BTW - they remind me of fond memories of attending the R15 Concours in 2004 and 2005 with the John Miles group.

Regards

Dave

Nice photos Jase, sorry I couldn't make yesterday - had more pressing (decorating) duties to perform!

Well done!

See you Wed?

Jase - thanks for posting those up...that's a nice 993 in the first set of photos [;)]

(I will be posting the photos that Tony took of the presentations some time over the next few days.)

I am still stunned that the weather held out all day until shortly after the presentations - what a result [:)]

Dave W - I don't know whether either of the 964 drivers frequent the forum - incidentally the black 964 is an R14 car.

Dave
I have the details on those members with the 964 cars if you need them.
i.e postal addresses
regards

hiya jase, firstly thanks for pics and a very big well done, your car looks great and it must have been another amazing 928 that pipped you for 1st, regards jason p

Congrats on the result: I read your post with interest. I don't know anything about the concourse scene, so forgive me for perhaps asking the obvious. How come that a car with modifications -such as cup 1 wheels etc on the 928S- is allowed into a concourse? Isn't it all about originality and the cosmetic condition of the original bits?

Thanks for clarifying in advance,

Bert

Bert,

We try to run an inclusive day for all members and being intractable about originality would exclude many members' cars - where would the fun be in that?

To be fair I think the central rules were changed a couple of years ago to accomodate modified cars, though I don't recall the details.

Ah yes the 993 Alex, I have added a small comment to the picture for those who couldnt make it.[:D]

Hi Bert and thankyou, firstly let me say I too am new to the concours scene and know little of how its judged etc however I do know that the score sheet is made up of 2 main areas those being internal and external. Points it seems are awarded according to condition but taking into consideration mileage and regular useage as important factors. [8|]

An example of the system would be my car has covered two hundred and fortynine thousand miles in 29 years, the car next to me in the pictures has only done sixty thousand and is 10 years newer..... of course his is cleaner and undoubtably in better overall condition but this system of scoring means that you dont have to be a millionaire to enter this event and that a real enthusiast with a passion for classic cars can actually compete without first spending a fortune on restoration.[:)]

Regarding the wheels...... well to be honest they are genuine Porsche items and do still have the originals, I also have a hand built stainless system and Nitrous Oxide installed into the car but my understanding of concours meant showroom standard or improved upon, these modifications despite some lacking originality do make it a much better car to drive and we in R15 do drive our cars in all conditions. (check out the Wiscombe pictures)[:D]

Jasonp

The 928 S4 was a visitor to R15 and as such won the visitors class and it was Andys red 944 cab that beat mine on the day and rightly so as its a simply stunning example, I am however under no illusions that had the S4 been in my class it would have beaten my old 928S im sure.

If anyone has Tonys number could they pass it onto me as in my desperation to get the 928S in the garage before the heavens opened I forgot to grab my score sheet.[:(]

Hi Guys
I would just like to clarify our Regions position on the Concours.
Our Concours is run on a " Street Car" basis and as previously mentioned marks are awarded for the internal and external presentation. This does not include the engine bay. Marks are not awarded for originality. It is very much a show and shine event. To the best of my knowledge none of our members have "trophy vehicles" as most are are used to a greater or lesser extent as weekend or daily drivers. (The overall champion winning Cab covers 6,000 miles a year and has done so since owned). There are special parameters for Concours at National level which are far more rigid and include engines, originality and even gloveboxes (oh dear thats me stuffed as the empty Werter wrappers are kept there !) with scoring sheets a mile long. As a region we feel it proper to reflect what our members want and will support. Hopefully we have got the balance spot on, with large support and a good turnout from everyone, even those not entered. I will bring a blank sheet to Wednesdays Club night so anyone interested can see what the points are awarded for (1 page).
Congratulations to those who collected the awards and comiserations to those who were unlucky this time. The difference was one or two points in places for every class. It might interest you all to know that the visitor 928 achieved 149 points out of 150 with second place at 144. But those cars are very much show cars travelling around to the various concours.

Nice pics Jase and good to see the forum is now getting more use. Great turnout for the concours this year with a nice variety of vehicles although a few too many reds in the line up [;)]. You never know I might enter the GT3rs next year, if I can get the wheels clean []. Looking forward to seeing the list of entries for the rolling road event, it should be an interesting day.

Cheers

Paul

There's no such thing as too many reds! And I'm glad to say it's making a comeback after years of variations of Metallic Blue and Silver cars bought by first owners chosing with their head rather than their heart. If you like these colours on a sports car, your'e lucky as there are plenty to choose from. But where are all the Blood Orange,Viper Green,Maritime and Riviera Blue and Speed Yellow cars for us Nutters!!!! [:D]
R15 Concours is true to the original spirit of Concours D'Elegance that is supposed to reflect Pride of Ownership rather than Originality and Condition at all cost, which is why Jase fully deserves the recognition he received.By the way Jase-I like the photos mate!!

Thankyou very much Steve I really appreciate the compliment and it means even more coming from a Concours Masterclass member.

Now the question has to be, are we going to see that stunning 911 of yours on the dyno or not my friend? [8D]

Jase[;)]

remind me again, whats wrong with red !!!!!!!!!!

Surely it was an 80's colour to match the bankers braces ?
