Condensation in rear light lenses of a 718 Cayman

I had a 981 Cayman that lived outside with a less than dediated cleaning regime for 5 years. The lights misted up occasionally but there were no long term issues whatsoever and when I traded the car in the lights looked like new.

Over the last 18 months my 718 has done it occasionally too, and again there are no subsequent issues that I've seen.

In my experience they really do all do that and other than looking a bit odd when it happens there are no issues with it happening [:)]

I do hope so but my knowledge of biology far exceeds my knowledge of cars and my gut feel is that a number of the lights will have a brown /green tinge depending on the efficiency and availability of initial inoculation. We can hope!

Just in case anyone else has this problem. There is actually a bung on the back of the light assembly. I had significant water droplets forming on my 718 GT4 rear lens. After removing the bung I gently heated the whole lens with a hair dryer until the moisture dispersed and left it overnight in the house. Refitted the bung the next day and it’s not returned since. Pic below. It’s the blue plastic cap you can remove, under that is a rubber bung, once removed, there is a hole into the body of the unit. Simply push back into place when you’re done. I’ve added a pic that describes how the bung works too, it is meant to allow moisture out….
