Cooling fan

Can be the sensor in the radiator but as precaution pull the fan relay until you get a chance to sort it but remember to refit it before driving. Clarks garage covers the onerous task of replacing the rad sensor. I have a little bit of trouble with mine, when I switch off the fans run at full speed instead of going to slow speed, I just wait until they switch off. Being the sort of person I am, I am going to peel back the peening on the relay and see if the contacts are stuck because I think that if the fault was with the sensor the fans would not stick in high speed because regardless of temp, if the fans have cut in, they should go to slow speed as soon as the ign is off

See the "1990 S2 fan relay" thread lower down the page or higher up if someone's posted on it since.

(Or on the next page if nobody has ;) )

Drop the coolant first or you'll get VERY wet, best bet is to pull off the lower rad hose as the drain plugs have a habit of snapping.

Check out Clark's Garage for some good tips on bleeding the system too.

You can easily concoct a pressure bleeder using a zip tie, a bike pump and a disused/bodged bike tube.
