Cost of tyres??

Well, I paid approx £100.00 (205/55/ZR16) front, and £130.00 (245/45/ZR16) rear, PZero (ordinary), plus VAT. This is for all 4 balanced (weights on the inside - takes longer, but you don' t get wheels defaced)/fitted. And he is particular with how he treats my alloys.

This is from my local tyre place - not necessarily the cheapest, but I have been using him for years, and he never questions me if I go back with what I think is a problem, and always gets me what I want, when I want it.

Having said that, he does supply the independent that has always serviced my car, so can' t be all bad !

Edited to say that this is for an 87 3.2 - silly thing to forget !
 
I' ve used Micheldever over the years for my bmw' s etc...but the Carrera hasnt needed any tyres yet...Micheldever have a good reputation for price and its such a large operation, when it comes to visiting them for tyre fitment, you are processed along like on a conveyor belt system...I' m not too sure I would want that for my restored fuchs!!

Does anyone know any different?

Is the price for the new Goodyear F1s or the old ones? If its the new ones, that is quite a deal.

Has anyone tried our own Essential Simon? He has tyres at top prices and would be worth a call. He can get most brands I think.

I have used them for my old 944 and my 996. If you let them know you want the weights on the inside of the rim and you give them your soft socket (you do have one of course!) and hovver around them like an annoying pratt then they do take care (they like nice cars!). They even torqued the wheel bolts - something I have never seen done by anyone before..... As for the rims.... no marks found.[:)]
 
I have used Micheldever to supply mail order for several years and they are very reliable and good value. A recent visit to have two new rear tyres Dunlop SP9000 fitted was done with care. I loosened the wheel nuts when I got near the head of the queue and hovered during the process. Well recommended.
