Cotswolds Rally

Hi, thought I'd introduce myself being a new member.

I'm thinking about dragging myself, dearly beloved, and the wife [;)] along to the Cotswolds Rally - if there's places left. Anyone done it previously and what's it like?

The monthly get together - do I/we (joint membership with my long suffering) just turn up on the evening? Or do we need to wear red carnations in buttonholes kinda thing?

Looking forward to meeting y'all.

Carl - and better half Trish.

Hi Carl & Trish,

I'm hoping the Cotswolds Ralley is going to be good as we have book for it the first time this year.

Rick Cannell, another Essex attendee, has been on it previously and booked again this year so that would indicate that perhaps it should be a good time. Rick is always a good laugh so, even if the event doesn't come up to scratch, I have little doubt we will still have a day to remember.

Re monthly meetings - just turn up. Various members have black Essex Region polo shirts, so if you are shy just accost one of them.

Thanks John. I've sent the entry form on so we'll be there. Got up this morning and thought I'd scout where the meetings are held - sun was out so roof down & sunnies on. So nice I forgot what I went out for in the first place - but was a nice drive anyway!

Certainly will. Never done a rally before - do I need to learn about regularities ? Thought thats what prunes gave you [:'(]

Don't think Ican make it as the car hasn't run for months and I need to test it first after all the work that's been done on it, I was really looking forward to that. I may have a ticket for sale early next week.

Gonna be a busy weekend for us - Chili Peppers in Hyde park on saturday, [8D] Cotswolds Sunday, my birthday Monday. Thinking about a stay over somewhere after the rally.

Well we had a brilliant day - brilliant weekend in fact. Saw a few faces from the last club night (sorry if I didn't recognise anyone - I have a dreadful memory for names & faces). Picture attached is from the car park at Gaydon - my blue baby in the foreground of course. Did anyone stay long enough to see which car won supercar of the year?

my navigator making some small - ahem - adjustments after a top down blast over the backroads into Gaydon (once we'd stopped getting lost) ...

Carl, that is why we Essex members buy the Polo shirt with our names imprinted! It saves a lot of awkwardness. Please see me at the BBQ, or if unable to attend our next meeting. I assure you everything is done at cost.

(once we'd stopped getting lost) ...

I'm glad we weren't the only ones. I'm sure they put in duff instructions just to make it more "interesting". We gave up in the end and programmed the sat nav.
