Cracked ignition coils

ORIGINAL: Bluebox

@jcorallo: Your coils look very bad, I will take a look at the Bosch versions...
Good picture showing that its only the transformer case thats spits (as Tony says there can still be working fine when cracked).
Was your car running OK before you changed your coils ?

I thinking with the PCGB discount it worth just buying coils from the OPC, if you add up the cost + Post etc..
But must look at the Bosch coils first, I going to add more Aroldite first to my cracked coils and see how the coils perform.

Regards,
Chris.

The coils were working fine but I replaced them anyway. No brainer really - it was only time before they stopped working.

Go to an OPC? Why? Eurocarparts are free shipping on orders over £100... and you have a branch in Manchester Trafford Park if you really wanted to drive there!

jcorallo,

Thanks for the info,
Amazing they were still working !!! Looks high voltage output part of the transformer must still be insulated.

I didn't know Eurocarparts do free shipping on orders over £100... and has a branch in Trafford Park which is only 35 mins from me !

Had a quote from the OPC for MAP sensor £281 + VAT = £330.18, £153.47 + vat from Eurocarparts.

Regards,
Chris.

If you are going to go to ECP to pick up, ring first - they do sometimes have to order stuff in, usually comes the next day though.
