Creaking Windscreen

Tony
Yes, I had a similar problem. An OPC refitted my windscreen which then started to creak. I gave up on waiting for a response on whether it would refit it using teflon tape (which I think is the recognised cure) so took it to a local porsche specialist who did it for me. I think he removed the outer windscreen seal before taping the aperture and then refitting with a new seal. I seem to recall it cost about £70 but I would need to check to be sure. I guess it could be a diy job but not one I would wish to tackle.

Tim

Pedros Ice wax from any good bike shop or from the internet seems to do the trick. Have also read that fitting a strut brace can cure the problem and at the same time sharpen handling.

I have been told that good old Vaseline round the inside of the windscreen rubber does the trick.........apparently[8|]

i use some wd40 with the little nozzle,, peel back the rubber a little and a few squirts,, both inside and outside,, normally lasts for months,,,,,,

Pedros ice wax generally seems to be the solution on both sides of the pond (the US guys swear by this solution).

Alan,

I agree - my experience is that the tape still needs an application of some lubricant but the two together usually fixes it for a few months.
