Yet another trackday date
Javelin are doing a noisy day at Croft ( 105db) on Friday Sept 4th, early bird booking rate £179
Weather guaranteed to be good !!
I'm confident my car will be trouble free as I have new rads, new exhaust and new tyres, what could possibly go wrong....
I'm booked with my old mate Frazer Murphy who is looking to get his Cayman S out on track a bit more.
As usual the more the merrier.
For those without a trailer its an easy up and down the same day, only about 2hr20 from Glasgow

I'm up for it, so is Michael I believe. What are folks doing, staying local the night before or driving down on the day? I'm waiting on jnr confirming one way or the other before booking a hotel.
D.

I'm def going up and down on the day, it was easy last time ( not so easy on the back of a breakdown truck going home )
Mike

Im planning on staying over the night before , Travelodge Darlington is only £30 just now well worth it to be fresh in the morning - dependant on drink consumed the night before of course [:'(]

newbie question - are the Javelin events at croft good for first timers looking for a bit of instruction (busy track? Porsche only?), or am I best looking for a more of a controlled environment with less cars? If so any recommendations?

Also how will the 4th be different to the 24th Sept at Croft (PCGB rather than Javelin).

Cheers
Gareth

Hi Gareth,

the obvious difference between Javelin on the 4th and the PCGB date is the price. If you are a first timer I would say pay the extra as unlike Javelin day it will be strictly Porsche only and also Club members.

why not go on 4th as a spectator and maybe get a few passenger laps to see what it's all about?

what car have you got?

Alan.

I'm hoping to make it down for this, will be last minute decision though depending on work.

Its possible to book instruction with Javelin.
Also a few club members will be there and happy to show you lines and generally make you feel comfortable.
Bite the bullet...
Oh and usually later in the day all trackdays quieten considerably and it is nice then to get out on a quiet track.
Mike

What's the latest on who's going? I'm seriously thinking of joining in, if it's not too late for the early bird deal. BTW anyone who's laughing at this, after my touring round KH in May with the hood down on the 993, be aware that I have just acquired a more suitable car, so even if I'm no quicker, at least I shall look the part! [:)][:D][:D]

Washed it before going out this evening but you'll have to settle for travel-stained pics for now!

Grrrrrrr! I hate the new format of the forum. At least I knew how to post pics in the old version. Anyone know how to do it now? I just clicked on the image icon and pasted in the URL for the pic in Photobucket, but it seems you can't open it.

I'm planning on going, but waiting until a bit later to see weather and work commitments - I think Stevie Turbo is going also if he gets his car back in time from Fernsport.
