Have you upgraded you're alternator yet[8D]
And have you worked out how to change the green LED's in the boost controller/thingy/whateveritis?
Especially with the dark nights coming in, it'll look great.
One of the reasons I like BMW cabbins (the cubby hole lights remind me of an E39 5-Series centre console lights that shine down from the headlining) is because of the good ambient light - looks like your going for the same effect but in blue!

I do have an upgraded voltage regulator to run the IceShark headlamps []
The green LED thingy is my Link MAP Engine Management interface. This is only a temporary plug in fitment for adapting the fuelling so will be unplugged when I'm happy with the settings (one day).

I'm not sure if I've still got a 944 cubby box in the shed (as in not a 968 one). If I have I might make one up to try as I think, without the clock housing shielding the right hand switches, it would look as if it had been designed to be there in the first place.
As it is I might shuffle the switches to put the alarm LED on the right as it doesn't need to be looked at.

.... I haven't had a chance to use the car at night yet, but I am looking forward to it.......
I have now, and I'm very pleased with the results.
I was concerned that I would get reflections in the windscreen but this doesn't seem to be an issue. I get reflections from the AFR guage and the Link programmer, but they are high in the screen and well off to the left so don't cause a distraction.

Yep Im picking up a 993 C2 Cab in Iris Blue on Tuesday from Gmund cars , Ive always fancied the last of the aircooled 911's and the price/spec seemed spot on. Ive really got mixed feelings at present as the 944 has just been a real joy over the last 2 years and has always brought a smile to my face but £££'s dictate that the old girl will be going up for sale [] but if she doesnt sell Im already considering the option of keeping both cars but the £££'s/missus [] may say otherwise...
Ive no idea how to do links but the 993 C2 Cab can be seen on their website gmundcars.co.uk , its not to everybodys cup of tea but it floats my boat.

John, have you changed the bulbs for LED's behind the clocks/speedo etc?......
The main instrument panel lights have been replaced with the Flamingeye LED kit. This removes the existing prisms which tend to degrade with age and don't reflect the light around as effectively, hence the dim looking dash lights on some earlier models.
Very nice. The Amaranth RS lookalike is more my thing but your's looks very nice. I was supposed to be buying myself a diesel estate to replace the 306 but as time goes by I'm finding it difficult to justify the outlay on something that will depreciate and I'm drawn toward buying a 964 C2 coupe instead (probably with something like a Mk3 Golf diesel as well). I just need to satisfy myself I can find a decent job when I'm laid off before I commit to something like that. Shame the S2 has to go though - there's no way my Turbo will be just to make way for a squashed Beetle []ORIGINAL: chrisr

Love the squashed Beetle comment [] , in fairness it prob isn't the right financial time for me to buy the car but for once I just thought ' to hell with it ' if in 6 months Im broke then - Ill sell the 993 and start using the 944 again which will have been sat on the drive []... the 944 hasn't even gone yet and I know Ill miss the old girl.
I have a bit of an issue with the big bumpers on the 964, it makes it look more like a beetle wearing a pseudo 911 body kit - if you know what I mean. It does seem the obvious current choice for going to a cheap 911 though.
There was a nice conversion in 911PW this month which replaced the front and rear bumpers, and front indicators, with something far more classical looking. The front of the bonnet is reworked to make it longer, and the window frames, door handles and the like either polished back to ali or chromed. Seats are replaced with something a little more retro and the rears are ripped out and replaced with a cage. The whole thing is finished of with a duck tail spoiler and some custom Fuchs looking three piece wheels. It does look very classy. Carried out on a black car one could recreate the classic opening sequences the Le Mans.
Now having viewed the video I am given to wonder if it wasn't one of these conversions being a pain in the bum during the Brands Hatch parade laps.
