cup 2's on ebay

Just a quickie...do I recall someone (Fen, I think) saying you can squeeze a 225/45/17 onto a 7" front wheel?

Matt

That's what I have on my 7" fronts. By some people's advice it's the very edge of what you can get away with. In fact by some advice you need a 7.5" rim minimum for 225's.

Thanks Graeme,

I'm very confused (ignorant) over what will and won't fit my '90 turbo, ofsets etc

I have emailed the 2nd ad for wheel details, but would the 1st set fit?

Matt

The first set have the wrong offsets (ET numbers).

The second doesn't mention offsets, but given the cars he mentions they fit, I believe this means they are "wrong" for you too.
[]
Worth getting him to quote the ET numbers to you though (they are stamped on the wheels).

Hi Mik,

Sorry, I missed your lased nosey enquiry.

I'm still looking is the answer - not an easy task. Ideally I want genuine Porsche Cup1's, or 2nd best would be genuine Cup 2's, replica 1's etc...but when you find the right size and ofsets, every other bugger seems to want the same. A pair of replica Cup 1's with OK tyres went for £720 on ebay last week - forget about it....

I'm not in any major hurry, there's a lot of tread left on the Toyos yet!

best

Matt

I guess that's the trouble with wanting something desirable..... and in this day and age (with ebay etc) genuine bargains are scarce.

I forgot that Stephen put brand spankers T1R's on before you took the car. [8D]

He did indeed, and i would rather get a few more miles out of them before retiring them to the garage!

Hi Darren, I hope all is well with you. Still no takers for your wheels?
I am tempted but, as I'm in no hurry I'm hanging out for some Cup1's.
Also I'd rather try and find the right ofsets to avoid using spacers.
I'm sure you'll get at least your asking price on that old auction site
Matt

Cup 1's very desirable - those with them better make sure the proper arrangements have been made to secure them then.
