curborough sprint

i've had to give up my own place to fit another person in who i'd missed off the list by accident so i will be fuming if others just turn up and get a go.

i have been presuming they were talking about just spectating ? we all had to fill in forms with our car registration and details. this list is for the guards at the gate and i was told if the car at the gate is not on their list then it will not be allowed through.

as i have said this is not an event i have ever done before so i can only go by what im told by the organisers (Club Audi) and Curborough themselves. They tell me hot food and refreshments will be available on site.

it would be good business to let spectators in to boost sales, I was planning on coming down to take some piccies, whenever PCGB have run a sprint there its always been very relaxed about spectators, would Nick Taylor (PCT) know?

Did'nt say it was Helen, just implying things are usualy quite laid back at Curbo, of course if Audi boys dont like onlookers then I'll just stay in bed........no need to shout

sorry to shout but it seemed to be the only way to get the message across.

had booked three PCGB sessions for later in the year but don't think i can be bothered with the agro of organising it.

Well I am going to turn up anyway! - weather dependant. It would have been nice for the invitation to have been spread to the West Midlands region of which I am a member. That way we could have been put on the register in time to spectate. Seeing that the West Midlands have no annual concours planned (for the 2nd year running) it would have been one of the few local events to go an enjoy in 2006. I am going to seriouly consider renewing my club membership come renewal time. Might see you next Saturday?

I was only asking about spectating.......don't think I can be bothered with the aggro of turning up......looks like Donnington for me then....

Of course anybody can come and watch!! -cld u check this out Helen? -a day I went on last year seemed open to all and sundry....

C u there!

I don't think anybody is trying to muscle in on a driving place for the day, just to spectate!!

Helen -do us all a favour. You are the event organiser -contact Club Audi and get their definitive answer regarding spectators.....

And guys, Helen has taken the trouble to organize this and as she points out, it is NOTHING to do with PCGB. So it's up to the churlish amongst you whether you take out another year's subscription to the Club or not!!!

Maybe after venting your spleens here you may think about applying your mis spent energy to help run PCGB -many hands will be required at Eynsham......

Since there are, apparently, no local PCGB events, how about some of you getting together and organising some for '07???? If a self confessed dyslexic blonde can manage it, why can't you!!!

The Club is only as good as what you are prepared to put into it.....

I'm sure (hoping) this wasn't directed at me but if it was then.... been there done that Melv... unfortunately 3 kids under 5 put an end to most social plans thesedays[&:]

Still like to partake where possible though or show support by spectating......where possible[8D][;)]

Looking forward to tomorrow. Hope the weather holds off. I'll be in the car below so any non R8'ers can recognise me.

Ian.

So in discreet, CIA undercover type mode then !!

Looks delightful, did you buy it like that ?

Hope SSRs are forgiving in the damp ! cheers, Maurice [8D]
I have toned it down since buying the car - it used to have lots of orange bits on it as well as the yellow. Bought it pretty much as it is other than the wheels. I have had a lot of fettling done to it to sort out the niggles and a gearbox rebuild which I knew it would need. It's a definate ten footer though as when you get close you can see the abuse it has had over the years.

Looks like light rain from 12. Could be a few pirouettes performed during the day, myself included.

Regret I've had to pull 2mrw -left msg with Helen if there is a reserve list.

I've done a heap of driving this week and not looking forward to the poss 5hr return trip from Surrey -another time.....

Still, did get a good fix at Oulton last week!!

Have just given my dusty helmet a damned good shining [:)] and will be rendezvousing with my Maurice at Piper Towers. See you all in the morning.

Should mean Helen will be able to get her place back at least.

I think that the confusion lies with the use of the term gate. I used to run events at Curborough. The non access is the gate that allows you onto the track. ie if you are not booked/ registered you can't go on the track as there is a limit to numbers. However there is also an entry gate to the venue. This is only manned if the event organisers want to charge an entry fee (eg MAC) so spectating is an option
