Customer Satisfaction Enhancements!

Delbox

Received a 'phone call from my supplying OPC yesterday evening. Seems that all new Boxsters are to be 'recalled' to have a number of Customer Satifaction Enhancements embodied. The issue of rattling roofs is to be addressed (although my car doesn't suffer - yet - in this area), bonnet catch bolts to be replaced and some anti-corrosion issues to be dealt with. Car goes in on 13 Aug for the work to be undertaken. Anyone else had a similar call? As an aside, I've had no problems with my car from the outset; hope that they don't create any!

Perhaps, they'll upgrade the PCM 2 while it's in?

No, not yet [:(]

Was yours one of the first build ?
Mine was May build.

Worried from Lancs.

[&o] Not a word from mine! And we were only chatting via email yesterday

Mine was one of the first; it was the Nottingham OPC demonstrator and delivered to Nottingham on the day of the UK launch last year.

No word on recalls from mine either despite him calling me to try and prise out some hard earned for a Cayman deposit last week!

(ps mine was May build for June)

They know you're satisfied with yours Rob! [:)]

[:D] Yeh despite the rattling roof and corrosion issues NOT! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Spoke to my OPC today refs this mysterious recall situ and he hasn't heard a word [&o] My car is a Feb 05 build which I guess is still very early in the run and so far so good

Mine has been back for the bonnet catch issue and is in for the roof rattling fix tomorrow. I never noticed any problem with the roof rattling but was told it might develop over time without some more flexible bungs(?).

In some ways I'm glad that James' car was called in; was beginning to wonder if I was alone in being 'recalled'!

I picked my 987S (Jan05 build) up from a warranty appointment today. Besides repairing the broken center dash air vent flaps, they mentioned that three recall (edited from "warranty", sorry) issues were addressed. One of them being the bonnet , but they could not tell me what the others were. I requested a copy of the work report once they have it available and will post once I know more.

I have not received any letters or reports concerning recalls for my car model, but that can probably be attributed to the fact that I wasn't on the mailing list until now.

My car was built in December last year. It's disappointing to have the car go back to the dealers so soon but they are very flexible and always drop me off or pick me up at a time that is convenient for me......quite a refreshing change after dealing with Audi dealers for the last three years!

Visited my OPC today for leather seat wear on drivers side but no mention of any recall for points mentioned. Build date was December took delivery lst January done 4k miles so far. New design of seat could be causing the leather wear - please check your car.

John

What did your OPC say about the leather? I have noticed this but have not mentioned it to my dealer....yet.

Where does the leather wear show?
How many miles driven before it appeared?

You guys are getting me worried [:-]

The leather is wearing on the driver's seat - you will be aware that the design of the new boxster has more stitching and is fatter so when you get into the car, you slide across this part - after this short time, wear is appearing - if you wear jeans (I don't) this is going to occur much quicker.

The OPC photographed the seat and are sending a report to Porsche UK - I was told it would be some time before I heard anything further. They seemed more concerned that it would be a problem on resales in the future!!!! I am sure that most owners after spending £2k extra on ruffled leather would be none too happy. I am certainly not very happy and was shocked at their initial response to their concern when they sell the trade-ins at some future time. I will give them 4 weeks to deal with the complaint.

I will keep this thread updated.

Thanks John,
I'll keep an eye on mine, and be careful what I wear [;)]
Very interested in the outcome.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi John,

What type of seats do you have and where should we be looking for the wear. I have an 05 987 S.

Thanks
Gary

Standard seats terracotta ruffled leather - there is a black line which is quite obvious on this colour - first thought the seat belt had caused the wear but too high - will try and get a photo today on the forum - the seats are electric.
