Dent in wing

Are you local too?

Last I heard T&T were less keen on "projects" and focussing more on insurance work, but I am a local memeber who has used them to good effect.

The only fly in that ointment is that homesea is in Yorkshire, it's arumdevil who is local and he reckons his is beyond repair.

Sorry to go on and about this, but I managed to get what the car is worth from the insurance company and keep the car, so not all insurance companies are all bad. I didn't even need to provide examples of other cars for sale or anything, so things are looking up. Can't decide to part the car out or tart it up and sell it on. I might just knock about in it until the right turbo comes along. I guess if they have paid out on it, it will now be a cat D but they didn't ask me to send the V5 off or anything. If I fix it up and sell it on would you think the cat D would devalue it by approx 50%??

I'd have thought that if you fully document the damage and the repair, with good pictures, you'll not devalue it by that much.

Wouldn't it be nice if the insurers will give you the cash from the lowest estimate and let you get it fixed yourself?

Thats what happened to me when my 1983 mercedes 230 ce was rear ended by a 17 year old girl in her KA....

The assessor got a few quotes, the lowest being £1900 to repair the car, so he said I could have the cash and keep the car...

I kept the cash, then sold the car for £500, I was £900 up on what the car owed me, and £1300 up on what the car was actually worth- result! [:D]
