Did someone sink Titanic?

I had a virus alert last night, on an incomming e-mail. I don't know where the e-mail came from but I don't seem to have seen any mail from Titanic today. I was wondering if the virus hit Titanic or if my system has just refused to recieve any mail from Titanic as that was the source of the infection.

Has anyone else had problems?

I had 3 weird emails from Titanic last night at the back of 7. I checked my laptop and my server and they both came up clean, and the mails came back from addresses I don't use so I assumed it was somebody else on the list had been infected. It didn't totally surprise me then when there has been no mail to the list today - I assume it's down until the infection is cleaned.

I guess that's one of the disadvantages of a mail list vs. a forum.

Its the same with the titanic964, i had an email sent to me yesterday 'not' from titanic but containing about 1000 email addresses headed 'newyear', many 964 titanic users were listed on this email so there is a chance that someone had a virus problem somewhere.

PS. This email didnt contain a virus just a load of email addresses

Actually it's been nice to give my Titanic folder a rest today [:D]

Rob (or Simon) probably got tipsy and fell over the server. They'll spot it in a few days and our email will go beserk with 'testing' and 'hello anybody there' messages.

It would seem that it is sorted again - complete with "Testing", "Hello anybody their" and "It's very quite today postings.

I have to say that I'm getting to like this forum more and more. It was nice not to play mass delete on my inbox today.

And as usual after a glitch, all the messages come in in random order so it's really difficult to follow the thread.

I like Titanic from the point of view of the quality of knowledge provided but it doesn't half have lots of limitations in my eyes. As I've said before, I wish everyone from there would just come over here!

Fen, I dont think the PCGB would like the banter from Titanic as the moderators on here would have to work in shifts pressing the delete key ! [;)]
The difference being on titanic, if you need an answer to a question you get it within a few minutes.

Much as I love Titanic I am getting tired of it simply because of the amount of time it takes to crawl through all of it. I much prefer this and am deleting more and more of Titanic [:(]

p.s. the 944 Titans are much better behaved than Kens rebels in 964 Titanic [:D][:D][:D]

Titanic -I love it.

For sad old sole proprietors like me who work from home, this is my ten minutes chatting around the photocopier, catching up on the gossip.

One hundred e-mails a day? No problem. There is always the delete button, or I could unsubscribe.....

In fact, on Friday, there is a Titanic lunch near Egham. PM for details.

Long may Titanic sail and god bless all who use her!

What's wrong Slim - can't you read HTML [:D]

You might get round this little problem by setting your e-mail system options to accept HTML message format. It sounds like it is set to "text only" at the moment.

Apparently some wally in Hong Kong sent a massive e-mail to the 944 part of titanic.co.uk (944, 964 and GT3 are the most active onboard so no real suprise that this happens occasionally).
This fouled up the works. It's not supposed to happen but glitches occur now and then. Simon and The Admiral are on the case. Big upgrade for titanic is waiting in the wings.

Seems to be down again - I have had a couple of virus alerts over the last 2 days, seems someone wants to spoil it,
Tony

I wondered why traffic on here was up. It took me longer to read my PCGB forum than email today [] and that's a first. It looks like the new Titanic will be on a forum type basis http://porsche.titanic.co.uk

I hope it is, as it's quicker than email and easier to follow a thread IMHO
