Dinks - Cure & Prevention - Garage Queen Tendencies

Oh BTW Steve.....has the CS been roundy roundy? and why didn't you buy Scuttys Clubbie?

My Clubblie has indeed done lots of "roundy roundy" and driven (hard) when it was in fighting trim (1989). It was owned by Andy Rouse, who race prepared it (at a £££ cost) and then driven in the Porsche Open of 1989 for approx 75% of the season, by Des (40) Winks.

The only damage it sustained was being hit in the wheel (?) by Tony Dron.

I didn't get Paul's car - but I really really wanted it. Excellent running gear, and a cracker-jack noise in his garage. However, SWMBO and I had a terrific "discussion" about the merits of ownership, and I'm afraid...I lost.

Who says men have been liberated ?

.....well bugger me....and I thought I was the only one......did it rest on the LHD issue?

Yoda...my dinks are in the process of being done as far as poss and in the meantime I've had the inside rear arches undersealed to try and reduce the impacts...we'll see!

Jim - I'll check the results at JZ. How did you get the pimples out, was it dent master or something similar? Underseal isn't a bad idea although I may look into the factory arch liner from a 964 that Mel mentioned.

Regards

....yes something similar....apparently, and I haven't seen it yet, most are gone....however some paint starring [] remains......We'll see!

and I should worry[8D]

Yoda,

Any help from George Morrisson regarding the pimples? Yes, it was some sort of reverse
dent master process. My understanding is that the guy "pushed" the pimples back in.
Result was impressive, but I am told that He is The Master. There is a small protection
in the rear wheelarches of RSs, but in my case it had been folded (not by me!), exposing
all.

For the covers, George just made them up from bits and bobs (not pretty at all when the
wheels are out, but effective when they are on).

Following his first attempt, I had more pimples (The Master pushed them back
again). The problem was that the covers were not long enough and stones thrown
from sticky tyres were bouncing off the rear light casings straight back into the
wheelarches, with enough velocity--as I said, Spa is where I got most of these.
Adjusting the cover size sorted this one out.

My understanding from talking to experts (PSI) is that some form of solid covers are
required with sticky tyres. On race cars, they use carbon apparently. But Mel is right:
964 covers will fit on existing fixings. In any case, undersealant is considered to be
insufficient to diffuse the impact of stones.
