Discs could need replacing after 1 year, surely a joke.

I've just been told by OPC that the front discs & pads need replacing on my 22k miles , year old, 987 @ £ 650![]
This is after complaining about a low speed brake squeal at the first service at 20k and after a subsequent visits with no fix.
The brakes themselves work fine apart from the noise and the diagnosis was scored discs and blocked holes - yet neither was reported at the service and in fact I was told that the discs & brakes had been cleaned & polished.

Needless to say I quite disappointed about this, especially as this is my first Porsche and up till now a fanastic experience. Is my only option now to just accept the cost of brakes as part of the running costs or is this unusual?

Get a good independant to have a look at them for you and get a cost comparison.

I have just done the 4yr/48k service on my 'S'. Bought the pads myself from Specialist Cars of Malton. The disks cleaned up nicely and did not even need a re-skim. The car has 37k on the clock.
