DMS and the 997turbo

Wow, impressive numbers indeed - and all very usable, amazing car.

Have you ever driven a 993 or 996TT Gary? interesting to hear how the 997 compares. From what I've read the variable vane turbos add another dimension to the power.

Sadly never driven a 993, but I've had two 996tt previously...
I'd say you have heard correct [;)] , however its not as perfect as some say and you can catch it out... overall though its spot on.
They never really go on about how the 997 handles so much better than the previous generation, which for me has been a massive bonus.
However enough to say I don't forsee me going back to a 996 [;)]

Last two times I've been to Sheffield there's been a Cobalt demonstator looking for a drive out [:D]

Congratulations on the new purchase [:)]

I heard Sheffield had moved their demostrator on to another OPC.

Mine is manual with Steels, Bob had cermaics brakes... take a look in the 997 area of the forum, quite a bit more chat about them.

alsas the test drive i had of one left me feeling very numb, just thought it had even less
soul than the 996 version (if that's possible)

I felt the engine and exhaust note was very uninspiring.....it was undeniably quick though for sure...

Maybe spending more time with one would chang this i suppose...

I've got a 993t & 997t sat next to each other in the garage.

The 997 is very quick and refined, the 993t (which has a few extra horses over standard) is extemely quick, less refined and has much more character.

I've had a 996t S, the 997t is an improvement all round.

Ken

Sounds like one hell of a garage !
Can I sleep in there and keep an eye on them for you?

All I ask is to be fed once a week. Oh, and left with the keys when you go on hols !! [:D][:D]

Sorry no room, it's full or Porsches, you can't get too much of a good thing. The only down side of getting a new Porsche is letting the old one go, I've not been very good at that recently and the collection has been growing.

Glenn, I was very much the same on my test drive, didn't feel as quick as my 996TT at the time...
It felt more planted...

Pleased to say time with it has sorted any issues I had at the time..

I may have to trust your judgement next year then[;)], as the 997 TT Cab seems to be the only

Will wait to see what MY08 exhaust sounds like, and also see if Porsche bring out their own powerkit by then.
