Devalue your car? Not sure. I think you potentially narrow the market for the car but maybe not too much devaluation. Then again, you never recoup what you spend on mods.
Personally, I do what I want for me. I didn't buy my car for the next owner. I would draw the line at a slope nose conversion or Gemballa Avalanche kit [:'(] (no matter what the aero benefit or weight reduction []), but if you choose your mods well you get a lot of personal satisfaction and a car that is generally much admired (except for the wax and white gloves concours crowd). Backdating to RS look or IROC or CTR bumpers are fairly well accepted IMHO (and all reversible).
Maybe a thread discussing what mods will not decrease the value of your car is appropriate?
