Do I need new front discs/pads

Well, down in London now till Sunday. Braking worked a treat, very pleased with the new discs/pads. Taking it easy for the first few hundred miles but no juddering whatsoever. Looks like the cheaper version is just as good as the rest.

ORIGINAL: gazzy

I had what I thought was a warped disc, but, after removal I was amazed how badly the discs were corroded. What you will often find is the cast iron has a hardened skin, this can be removed with a fettling hammer and if you have plenty of life in the discs they can be skimmed quite easily,I skimmed mine myself, cast iron is self lubricating and any general engineer should be able to do it for peanuts.

Yup, tbh mosty of it is normally deposits left by the pad on the surface which can be removed.

Most people think discs are knackered when it's just some material burnt or built up unevenly on the disc.

Going to change my rear discs soon as they have a lip that is a little too much imho indicating they are worn, would be interested to hear how these other discs the OP used go, but tbh it will take me a fair bit to move from the OEM part.
