DO I SELL MY 944T?

If you fancy it I have a brand new flywheel that was lightened plus a lightweight Spec Stage 3 clutch, all balanced, that has 5,000 miles on it you could have for less than a clutch kit. It isn't the smoothest of clutches as it's a 6 puck paddle, but it isn't as bad as you might expect.

I'm not sure how much the changeover costs would be to get out of yours and into a 250hp car, however depending on how serious you are about tracking it, you could easily make the changes to your current car to get it up to better than a standard 250 car. My mechanic changed his hubs and spindles as to accept bigger S4 brakes like the standard 250 cars. However in view of the 40% lsd, this is really just for fast road driving. It is not really suitable for anything but pootling around the track. I am getting an 80% lsd that is manufactured in Melbourne by a company that makes Quaiffes, Torsens and for Ferrari amongst others! They are a fantastic unit and aren't too expensive. If you want to view one you can go on to Rennlist a.t.m. and search in the '944 turbo and turbo S' section under a post titled '5 speed or 6 speed'. My mechanic ('JET951' on R-list) has one in his car coupled with the S2 crown wheel and pinion it rockets out of corners and sits down very well under braking or part throttle. The lsd would be about 1200 UK pounds so it is not cheap but for what it is it's worth it in my book. $3000 Aussie. Not sure what you guys pay for a reconditioned 40% stock one?

HI FEN, I AM INTRESTED, BUT WHAT IS IT LIKE FOR DRIVING AROUND TOWN. IS IT THE SORT OF CLUTCH THAT HAS NO REAL BITTING POINT, JUST FEELS LIKE ITS OFF OR ON?

No, it feels OK, much like standard and not a lot heavier. The only downside is that it can judder a bit. You really need to have 1,500 rpm on the tacho to get it to engage smoothly, and the same for a downshift - or heel and toe of course.

I'll send you a mail rather than deal on the forum as I'm sure nobody else is really interested.
