Do you wave at other Porsche drivers?

Hi Darren,

I wave at all older models (car, not driver) such as 924, 944, 928 and older 911s. I tried waving at Boxster owners but got no response whatsoever, so nowadays, anything newer I tend to wait for them to wave first.

I've also exchanged waves quite often with enthusiasts in other older cars such as MGB GT, old TVRs (loads round here as Blackpool is where they're built for the moment) and the odd Lotus / Fiat X19 / Triumph TR.

Anyway, they're my guidelines!

you're doing better than me then Julian. Don't ever get a response in my 996 other than looks of bewilderment but lots of mutual waving when in the 944 from the usual suspects outlined above (ie, not Boxsters!) Incidentally, are you usually topless when you're flashing??[:D]

I tend to find that Cayenne, 996/7, Bogster drivers wave the least, and never if you don't wave / flash first. I assume that they just don't recognise older Porsches. (Haven't seen a Caymen on the road whilst I've been driving a Porsche). Slightly better response when in the 964, must be the shape. Does anyone know a company that makes roof signs similar to those on taxies so I can get one made that says 'PORSCHE'. That should do the trick.
Cheers,

I would only wave at 944s, but sometimes there is no response.

In my days of Citroen 2CV ownership it was extremely rude not return a wave.....

Had a cab driver pursue me, at the lights he pulled up and said "nice clubsport, saw this car at the Essen Motorshow 1992".....

Spread the love people, but not to Boxster owners.

Hmm. Is it not the humble Boxster owners who pulled Porsche out of the soup?

You should be waving especially vigorously at us!! [;)][:D]
