Donington Car Museum - 18th April

It's not the map, maybe just me dithering !

I will repeat J15A 100 times before I go to sleep.

I have booked a table for us for a carvary meal at the Tudor Inn at Castle Donington.
it's very easy to find,is near to the museum and has a big car park.

please could you let me know by this thread or by e-mailing me if you want to join us at the pub. i need to let them know numbers asap.

Max and me will probably join you at the pub - do they have a vegetarian alternative at the carvery?

Other Rtenners coming along that I am aware of are:
Steve & Mitch
Andy and probably his boy
Gary
Dave
Dave T.
and John G.

To be on the safe side could you allocate 13 seats at the (big) table for all of us? Better to overbook.
Perhaps we could confirm the numbers once we get to the museum and give the pub a call to confirm? [8|]

Thanks for arranging this event Helen.

Yes they do a vegi alternative and yes i was planing to take the tel number of the pub with me so i can confirm numbers on sunday.

Will definitely be there, especially if there's carvery involved - Barney the Jack Russell sends me out with a doggie bag.

The so-called lucky bl**dy horseshoe I had all but forgotten about fell off from overhead my garage doors this morning and hit the bonnet of my bl**dy car - aaaaaaargh, superstitious feckin' mumbo jumbo, the feng shui windchimes could not prevent the air from turning blue

I'm sure I'll look back on this when I have built the new garage and think it's all hilarious

cor a lucky horse shoe shaped dent in your car to remind you how lucky it was that it didn't fall on your head[:-]

Well Max and I had fun - the museum was interesting and we enjoyed watching the track day action.

To which I wish to add a thanks to Helen and Larry - a good day out, and Larry was 'kind' enough to let me have a gentle pop at him about the club, and what to do with the 5 year plan (I say kind, but he had no choice really, as I sat opposite him during lunch !).

The only downside was the 3 hour journey back, in the pouring rain - I tried not to panic too much when I gently aquaplaned down a small part of the M1 !

Hey Brian,
It wasn't you little lad that the guide asked to be quiet was it? I could have died when he came out with that, I've got an 18 month old & know how difficult it is in certain circumstances. Like (you ?) said, they're little individuals !!!

I'm not bothered. I should have realised that it wasn't suitable for mini-me. It's difficult to find any club events that are.

I enjoyed it I have to say despite not going completely as planned, great location, super stuff there especially for us McLaren freaks, great run up the road in the rain with John, Brian and Andy and great drive back too, finally found some decent super unleaded near me so now the car runs properly too.

Phil - amen mate, but Brian don't forget Stoke Goldington, we will be there on the Sunday, should be a good day out and hopefully can arrange to bring the cinema for the kids too so bring Shrek along, make a nice change to the Disney Princesses and 'Barbie as Rapunzel'!

Thanks to Helen for suggesting it - good call!

It's good to talk - even better to listen! Perhaps I should have a special Directors' badge made[;)]

Thanks to all who made the effort to come along yesterday. I hope everyone had fun.

Helen, when are you going to post some of my excellent photos?[:D]

Do you two generally communicate via the forum like this ?

I always found the old fashioned method of modifying air pressure in a cyclical manner more reliable.
